I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
This is more than a little off topic, but I know a flight attendant who got Tootoo's number several years ago. Every time he'd play the Flames for 3 or 4 years, I'd text him in the middle of the night the night before the game to wake him up. I'd always text something suggestive as if I were a chick who wanted to meet up with him, and he'd alway text back some variation of "Who is this? Send dirty pics." He'd occasionally send pictures of himself, but I have no idea where they are now. Something tells me I'd get a lot of thanks for this post if I could find the one that he sent of himself shirtless, wearing a Mexican wrestling mask.
That is a little more than creepy.

Flames were looking for an agitator last summer when they missed out on Prust.
Tootoo is a similar player. He's also very good friends with McGrattan, not that McGrattan has Iggy like pull but at least he'd have some level of comfort in the room.
Gelinas also has a good read on him cause he was there in Nashville too.
I wouldn't be shocked if they picked him up.

I believe it would definitely be interesting but I'd much rather trade for him and give up a contact (Jackman) instead of just claiming him on waivers. It be nice to have another player in our roster we could call sandpaper.
FYI, as long as opposing players can simply nudge Backlund off the puck, he doesn't deserve more playing time then 4th line minutes.
I had no idea that dbag had so many fans here. The Flames would have been the laughing stock of the league if they had claimed him. Even the Oilers aren't that dumb.
I didn't hear anyone call the Red Wings the laughing stock of the league when they signed him last year.
He had some perceived value at the time. I thought it was a very strange signing, since Detroit doesn't normally employ this type of player. The Flames could always call up Blair Jones, a much cheaper alternative who can play an agitating style, and a better player overall besides.

Darren Dreger: Red Wings Jordin Tootoo and Panthers Steve Pinizzotto have cleared waivers.
I wonder with the Wings being up against the cap, maybe they want the cap space for the deadline, or perhaps they have another move in place sooner that requires them to clear room.
If I was Feaster, I would be prying into that a little to see if they would throw in an incentive for trading for Tootoo.

Lots of people who don't watch other teams play very often and rely on name recognition to form their opinion on a guy.
Exact same thing with Tyler Myers or Luke Schenn. People who actually have watched these guys play recently know that they are bad news.
A lot of fans don't watch the Eastern teams much and still think Tootoo is a quality 3rd line agitator, and still think Myers has Norris potential and Schenn can be a big shut-down guy just because they were sexy 1st round names.
Nobody was going to claim Tootoo. He's useless and he's finished.

I would do Jackman for Tootoo + if they wanted. We'd get an improvement over Jackman and probably a lower draft pick (likely a third or fourth) and they'd get cap space to call up Nyquist or whomever.

What ever happened to Brent Dodginghorse? Didn't the Flames draft him?
It would have been nice if he got 1 game in the NHL based on how much he contributed to the Hitmen.
