Also, #Flames Bob Hartley confirms that G Reto Berra will make a third straight start against Blues. Tight-lipped on other lineup decisions.
|
The issues against the Blues are similar to the issues against the Wild: I don't know if the Flames have the muscle to get the puck. Don't know what changes in the lineup might help with that though.
Recently the Blues have been one of the meatiest teams in the league.

Glad Berra is getting another start right away. It's important to wash away those games than let the taste linger until he starts next time.
I keep repeating the same mantra, but it's about player development right now. It is nice to get wins along the way if possible, but the focus should be about making these players better... not making them afraid to lose.

If Berra bounces back after last night's loss the same way he did after losses in Abbotsford, the Blues don't have a hope.

I though Berra played great last night. He kept Flames in the game until they tossed in the towel in the 3rd. At that point 2-1 or 5-1 made no difference.
Happy and optimistic he has a big bounce back game. But Flames will need ot score more than once. Blues can just check Hudler and win the game easy.

I don't think he has a permanent spot on the "top 6" because the Flames don't have a "top 6" in the traditional first/second line sense. The top line of Glencross, Stajan, Jones gets the most minutes, while the next 6 guys are close in ice time with Sven and Monahan getting more sheltered minutes.
So if we look at it that way, Galiardi certainly fits in as a Top 9 guy.

So take that as is, or expect Reinhart to slot probably in either where Jackman is or where Baertschi is. Possibly McGrattan sits but I doubt it.

WTF kind of lines are those? That is terrible.

It almost appears they threw numbers into a hat, and then Bob walked around and said pick a number.
Ok all the 3's you guys get the Yellow Pinnies
All the 1's you guys get the Red Pinnies
etc.....
Love it let it rock Flames. Give it hell and hopefully it's entertaining.

Can't believe he would spread bouma, jackman, and mcgrattan across the whole line up. I was hoping backlund would play the wing with stajan and jones while Reinhart centres the 4th line with bouma and mcgrattan. Hopefully the baertschi-Monahan-hudler line gets reunited.

Certainly Bouma shouldn't be top 6 either..
Only positive thing for those practice lines were at least Baertschi and Backlund would get to play off each other.

So tired of seeing Jackman in the lineup. He adds absolutely nothing.
Why not call Knight up and get him there instead.

Because Knight is a center and Jackman is a winger.

Does he really do all the little things right?
He had the worst plus/minus on Abbotsford by a mile last season, and he's tied for second worst this season.
Is he unlucky or does he have some holes in his game?

He was training with RNH, and Yakupov in the offseason.
Actually, he plays against the other teams top lines typically. Last year was the transition from the Dub to the pro game, and this year he's still producing but he plays tough minutes.
