I am curious to see if Rick is going to tell the group that Carol got bit or that he made her leave and the reason why. If he says that she was bit then that could make things very interesting later.

He'd be stupid to say he exiled her, or she got lost since then Darryl (among others) might go looking after her, and risk their lives. He would be smart to just say she got bit, then people would be able to actually themselves detatch from his absence.

What does he say to appease Tyrese's bloodlust though? If he says nothing, Tyrese keeps searching until he finds someone who closely enough fits the bill and goes apesh*t.

I hope so as they are dragging this flu thing out long enough and I'm sure they are going to drag this Carol conflict with Rick having to explain her not coming back.

Might be two of the best back-to-back episodes of the series. There has been a stark shift in mood and direction in the fourth season so far. It's been a higher level of fear and suspense and maybe getting a bit too inside here but the editing and music choices have been next level compared to previous seasons. The quiet moments have been the best parts, especially in episodes three and four.
Good to see.

How about what most people would do in real life? Tell the truth. He let her go and if this was the real world I wouldn't feel comfortable in that she wouldn't come back to the prison or cross paths in the future which would blow up in Rick's face if he lies and create double the turmoil. Have to tell everyone what she did for closure on the deaths as well as why she had to be cut loose. If Tyrese wants to go off and hunt her down let him go as at his current mental state the group may be better off without him.
I realize that the show probably won't go this route as they will want to manufacture more drama and subplots but in real life there is no other way to handle it.

In this case they can manufacture drama even with Rick telling the truth. Rick isn't the type of guy to lie about sending Carol off, the group has been together too long. Rick told the group about Shane, Rick told Darryl about leaving Merle behind, Rick told the group about everyone being infected (eventually). This is just the progression of Rick turning back into the leader, he made the choice to exile Carol without consulting anyone and he will explain to them that killing people is not ok and she had to go.

Tell me more about this "real world", as I would like to live in it.

Are you saying there aren't honest people in this world? Just because governments, corporations, and scumbags frequently lie it doesn't mean that people in general are not trustworthy.

One thing that stuck out to me as odd was the scene where they saw the girl getting eaten by zombies. Just her leg laying there... it looked like a clean slice, like with a sword or something, not a zombie attack. And then her actual body was some distance away from that. Then with the guy not showing up for their meeting -- their was something fishy. And I hope it comes back into play. I'm getting tired of this show introducing characters for no reason other than to die (aside from the black doctor guy).

Agreed, I can not think of a time when they body was eaten when it fell, I can't see her jumping away like The Black Knight "It's just a flesh wound".

I don't have a problem with this. It is believable that people would drift in and out of you existance in this type of situation.

Do you believe people are trustworthy? My experience makes me believe that the large percentage are not...

Didn't she have some issue with that leg? The reason we had seen the tattoo earlier was she was showing how she had been trampled and had problems walking now.
I'm just wondering if the leg was already lame or the knee was destroyed, it might have come off easy? Also might not have had as much meat on it if it was already lame.

The opening scene really was amazing. Carol is talking to Lizzie (I think the biggest of the kids other than Carl) Lizzie was saying that she knows Carol thinks she is weak but she is actually strong and "she isn't afraid to kill, she is just afraid." She also isn't too afraid of dying as she knows she will at least be able to come back.
Throughout this scene at times Carol and Lizzie's are voiced over Rick filling the gas tank of the SUV or is trying to but the jerry can is empty. He is also picturing the killings/burnings and it goes back to the handprint.
The scene ends with Rick discovering that one of their knives is missing and then shows Carol asking Lizzie about it and telling her to keep it out of the shirt for easier access.
All the kids know how to use knives. This was a major point in an episode that so far has led to nothing of substance quite yet (or that we are fully aware of). It also was a major point to show that Rick is informed that the kids have knife skills.
Lizzie called Carol Mom by accident, she is not going to take Carols banishment very well either. Rick knew a knife was missing from the pouch, does he know Lizzie has it on her all the time now? Will Lizzie keep it out of her shirt and showing full time as Carol told her to?
My guess is Carol did it. One, I don't think the kids would have had access to gas as well. And two, I think Carol knew she messed up killing them because just simply killing those two didn't stop this flu outbreak and would ultimately create tensions within the prison. She did it to protect herself and the kids, but she regrets it. That is why I think she is so upset with Lizzie calling her Mom.

I think this was my favorite episode so far this season. Some pretty heavy stuff.
Kinda wished those two kids they ran into lived and came back though. Was pretty sure they were going to die, but kinda wanted them to live so we'd have a few people in the group who weren't always so damn grumpy and morose all the time.
Heh, I go and compliment the heavy conversations, and then I want happier characters. Go figure.
Well, the heavy conversations were good cause they had a point, they had drama, and they were fairly realistic. But sometimes people in this show are just too bleak. It wouldn't kill them to have a happy scene every once in a while.
Like when they found the CDC in the first season and they were all eating and drinking, and celebrating the warm water. Was a fun scene.
It's pretty realistic to have everyone moody and on edge all the time, I imagine a situation like that wouldn't have many smiles. But I think you could get some good scenes out of a character or two who is just a little too happy and or naive.
Just a thought that popped into my head. It was a pretty good episode, no complaints here.

I think the girl killed either one or both of them, and Carol covered it up (possibly by killing the other one if the other one was a witness).

Just in the middle of season 2, my god is it bad. Punctuated by lowering the dude in a zombie well. Horrible.

But but but what about when Michonne cracked a bit of a funny with Daryl as they were walking through the woods? I thought her face was going to crack as she tried to force a smile.
I agree with an earlier post - that scene cracked me up. She suddenly wants to go from being sullen and cold to being a funny team player??
I like Michonne. I did like how she verbally slammed Tyrese.
