I have to say, the ice at the Dome looked Horrific from on my seat on the zamboni. Deep deep grooves and pits, and this was after we made our passes.

Berra looks solid, his positioning looks better than Ramo and obviously better than MacDonald.

I think this is the worst ice the Flames have played on so far. Chicago controlled most of the play but a solid road period for us. Berra looks confident

On a positive note, I could watch the Southern Comfort commercial 24/7.

Just spent the entire 1st period trying to configure a VPN so I missed it (damn Gamecenter blackouts!) How are we looking?

Good first period. Flames looked nervous, but they are skating hard and back-checking.

Big for Berra to get through the period unscathed.

About as good a first NHL period as you could hope for for Yogi.

0-0 after the first against the Hawks in their own barn? I'll take it. In the past that team would have scored 4 or 5 goals on us by this point and the game would be already out of reach.

Good road period for your guys...kept our guys on the perimeter, for the most part...no odd man rushes against (Glencross busted butt to get back on one potential 2 on 1)...a couple of offensive looks for your guys (Wideman has to do a little better when he has time and space)

Not a bad road period against the 'Hawks. Berra looks fairly confident. Like his play so far.

The one thing that I think I could knock is his speed...he looks a little slow once in a while.

From what I've seen after one, he has some rebound control and he has some vision. again, 20 minute sample.

Can anyone provide a brief synopsis of the first period for me? Out savin' lives so I never got a chance to watch or listen.

Can NHLers be sent to the ECHL if they are on a one-way contract?

No goalies Miikka fast but yeah that's what I kind of picked up on also. I think we'll see him get better as this game goes on
