Did they say that? No. Because they're good teammates.

I am not sure that shows they are good teammates and MacDonald is a bad teammate.
Looks to me like he was asked a question and answered it honestly. Should be no issue with that.
If he went looking for the reporter to tell them how it wasn't his fault and everyone else sucked maybe there should be an issue but answering the question honestly is fine.

Of course MacDonald isn't a bad teammate. He needs a team for that be the case.

Pretty much isn't yes.
And I don't think you understand how waivers work if you think he doesn't have a team anymore.

Good decision by the team. MacDonald just wasn't getting it done. He has certainly made some big saves, and is probably the best back-up the team has had in years, but it makes sense to give Berra a try and see what he has.
Ramo hasn't been much better, but he's looked more composed and doesn't seem to have the same degree of rebound control issues compared to MacDonald.
I don't mind this at all. In many ways it will be a good thing for the team if he is picked up on the waiver wire. That will keep Berra and Ramo with the Flames, and allow both Ortio and Brossoit to split duties with the Heat.
In the context of re-building, that would probably be the best scenario until one of these guys can establish themselves as the number one, or until a move is made to bring someone else in.

He was a bad goalie but no goalie is goign to save this team. Having a goalie that you can't rely on might be what this team need though, if they don't have faith that their goalie can make routine saves then they'll have to score more and play a better defensive game.... I think keeping MacDonald would be more punishment then skratching players!

Not sure there are any sides to be on (or why personal insults are needed).
It isn't MacDonald versus the team, it was a guy answering a question and the type of answer you here from guys all the time after a loss, but people are angry after a loss and trying to blow it up in to something that it isn't.

I'll miss him more than Tyler Moss but less than Andrei Trefilov.
You always knew what you were going to get. Average netminding not good enough to steal games.

So you're saying it's fine for macdonald to call out the team when he was, again, the biggest reason the team lost?

True - you don't want the team cheating defensively and relying on the goalie to bail them out time after time. We've seen where than can get you over the last five years or so. But it's a two-edged sword, having a guy that is consistently kicking rebounds right into the slot, and letting in what seems like one softie per game is just completely deflating.
I don't have a problem with MacDonald's comments either - he wasn't wrong. There was a lot of standing around, a couple of bad defensive zone give-aways (again) and that line of Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Bertuzzi had the Flames running around in their own end all night. Not a recipe for success.
But in terms of a hockey decision, making a change at goaltender seems like a sensible thing to do at this point.
So far this year, the rest of the team has been much better than the goaltending.

As I say they might be num 1 goalies down the line but not at this min in time. As for not knowing what we have in Berra- your right but only one way to find out, bring the guy up and see what he has and if it doesn't work out then go back to Ramo.

No, he's just saying the complete opposite of what the majority says.
He even said Malcolm Subban was solid at the WJHC just to argue with someone.
That's his schtick.

I don't see that as calling out the team, I see it as saying what happened in the game. He was asked a question and was bang on in what he said.
He also was not the biggest reason the team lost. 3 of the 4 goals were brutal plays by the defensemen on the team. His bad 3rd goal was awful, and I said it was wrong that he called it lucky, but the first two goals leaving guys wide open were not his fault.
The 3rd goal allows people to ignore what happened with the rest of the game and provide an easy scape goat but it was a lot more than Joey MacDonald that caused the Flames to lose that game last night.

LOL
The majority?
You whining a lot in this thread doesn't make it a majority.
And nice to see you attacking the poster rather than actually debating what was said and bringing up stuff that has nothing to do with the thread at all.

The game was tied 2-2, when he let in that stinker. Though I do agree he might be right on the comments, but that's still calling out the team, and he's the last guy on the team who should do that.
If my memory serves right, I don't recall Kipper throwing his team under the bus, even if he had the right to do so. You know why? He's a GOOD teammate.

I hope Ramo gets the next 4-5 games to get in a groove.
Berra will get his chance at some point, we'll never know about Ramo if we don't give him a stretch of games.
