Maybe that boarding penalty is the reason Backlund was benched?

He's fallen, is our teams 4th centre. There is no way Backs is deserved of more time. He had this during the Stajan injury. GlenX is a 1-2 goals away from coming out of this at which point he will be a threat nightly. Simple.

Where's the justification for giving No Hands Joe Colborne 24 minutes then? What has he done with all this undeserved ice time?

Backlund should have have 2 points in his 8 minutes of ice time with two pluggers on his line, much of which was on the PK.
He's going to get traded to a team like Detroit and he's going to become a very good, two-way top 6 centre.

I honestly think that deep down, Hartley feels the same way...

Only dominated physically in the o-zone every time he was out there and had great takeaways in the neutral zone leading to offensive opportunities for his line mates. Watch the game dude.

I don't think so. the flames were moving the puck pretty well and pressuring the wings all game, including most of the 3rd. didn't seem like it because whenever the wings scored every 3rd time they entered the zone

Hartley expects him to be perfect. He doesn't have any of these expectations for any other players (besides Baertschi, perhaps).
His zone starts have been infinitely more difficult than what Colborne is being handed as well.

I have to admit if I had to choose one of Backlund and Colborne going forward I would take Colborne. Nothing against Backlund but I don't his ceiling is very high at all. Colborne is bigger and more of a presence. I think he will be more useful i the long run.

Completely agree, backlund should be centering the first line... I wouldn't be surprised feaster is working the phones as we speak. And he will be a top 6 center somewhere else, I thought after Brent we wouldn't see this display of mishandling players, I was wrong.

Aren't you the poster that thought Hagman when sent to the Ducks would become a scoring machine?
If Backlund can not become a top 6 center on the flames, i highly doubt he becomes a top 6 center on another team.

?? no??
I hate and still hate every piece we got in return for Phaneuf. I want none of the remnants of that trade on this team to remind us.
