Meh, Hartley haters will hate, but seriously our goaltending sucks. A good goalie would make a larger impact than a good Backlund with 20mins of icetime.

This can't continue. If the next game for either Ramo or MacDonald is a stinker they have to consider bringing Berra up. It's too hard on team morale to let in goals like those in the 3rd.
Berra and Ortio will almost definitely see time this year based on what we've seen so far.

I noticed far too many plays dying on David Jones' stick tonight. He seems to be missing some intensity after getting back from his injury.

The Red Wings will sign him and he'll become a stud. Its all too predictable.

Good to see glencross celebrate that goal guy is a real lead by example type captain material right there
Get this guy off the team

I don't know why everyone is upset.. I think this is great!
We're losing games but keeping it close. This is exactly how we want to rebuild.
Let the kids play lots, lose a bunch of games, get a great draft pick and start working towards the next 3 years. This isn't a playoff team no matter how much the first few games teased us. They are who everyone thought they were, end of story.

Exactly who should Backlund be taking minutes from?

I'm not a big Hartley fan but it's way too early for the pitchforks. This is the hardest playing Flames team since 2006 and I have to give him credit for getting the players to play hard every night. Unlike most here I'm not that high on Backlund as I feel he's not going to amount to much more than he is so I don't have an issue with Hartley challenging him to be better because he's not living up to his draft status quite frankly.

Glencross was on the ice 30 seconds after he made a huge giveaway, lucky not to cost his team a goal.
At least Backlund is trying to be aggressive. Again, he faces the toughest zone starts of any other centre on the team.
He won 57% of his faceoffs as well (the team may have only won 1 or 2 faceoffs in the 3rd period).

You have to think the team might be out looking to acquire a legit goalie sooner rather than later. MacDonald has been MacDonald and Ramo seems on the ball in one moment and all over the place the next.
Has to be frustrating for the rest of the team to claw back into games only to have them slip away again on iffy goals. Another good effort by pretty much everyone again though.

Stajan and Colborne. Don't #### on a guy for his offensive game and then put him with Bouma and MacGrattan to validate your opinion.
If this is the organizational outlook and not just Hartley thinking he's a good coach, then it worries me.

Not sure what's going on with Backlund and Hartley.
Hard to hate on Hartley as he has the guys buying into his style of play which is great but can't agree with how he's handled Backlund lately.
Also, Joey MacDonald sucks.

It will be another young player soon enough, just not Colborne because apparently he's the golden boy.
Meritocracy ... for the young players ... sorta.

When your still losing and had another brutal game? No just skate back to center and give your best the to get another, don't celebrate like you just got a "Hatty" game winning goal

He and Monahan represent the future. Not sure why you wouldn't want these guys playing over two guys in Stajan and Backlund that probably aren't part of the future.

Lol Colborne isn't part of the future. He's Burke affirming a past decision and Hartley jamming it down our throats. At least in the past few games he's earned some of the minutes, because for the most part he's been nothing at all.

? Holy hell. There were other things to be unhappy about, that's a weird one. He didn't celebrate like he scored a hatty

If Colborne represents our future... we are in huge trouble.
No Flame has done less given their ice time than Colborne this season.
