8 team playoff is the way to go, and I really hope they go the direction of 5 conference champs and 3 wild cards.
.
As a season ticket holder I want to see FCS games banned. The OOC matches are not that good right now for most teams...SEC is the worst for cupcake match ups.
8 team playoff works if they are all conference champions from ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big 10 and Pac 12 conferences. The big five get an automatic in. AAC, Conference USA, Mid-AMerican, Mountain West, Sunbelt and independants have a shot at the other three spots along with teams from the big five that didn't make it via conference championship. Let the committee chose the three at large teams from that big pool.
Under this scenario you really have a sixteen team playoff because most conferences have a championship game. That counts as round one of the playoffs. Rankings go away
The committee will choose a big conference team. Especialy if the Champion of one of the 5 conferences has a poor record. Especially in those conferences where the divisions are not balanced.
This means an undefeated Alabama team would play the SEC Championship team against maybe a 1 or 2 loss Missouri team for nothing since they would almost certainly get one of the 3 wildcards.

Miami escapes all meaningful punishment thanks to punishing itself (and the NCAA being remarkably inconsistent)
Quote:
Thanks to "unprecedented" self-imposed sanctions, the Miami Hurricanes escaped additional harsh penalties from the NCAA as the Nevin Shapiro scandal presumably drew to a close Tuesday.
Miami will not face any additional bowl bans, clearing the way for the No. 7 Hurricanes (6-0) to participate in the postseason this year. Miami will lose three scholarships annually over the next three years, and the entire athletic program has been placed on three years' probation.
Additionally, the men's basketball program will lose three scholarships. Former Miami coach Frank Haith, who is now at Missouri, will be suspended five games. Former assistant coaches Jorge Fernandez (basketball), Clint Hurtt (football) and Aubrey Hill (football) will receive two-year show-cause penalties.
I didn't think some of Oregon's uniform combos could be outdone, but I'm pretty sure these Oregon State unis can be seen from space, or measured with a Geiger Counter.
This pic doesn't do them justice.

I will give them credit, at least black and orange are the schools color unlike some of the crap the Oregon and some others do

The Following User Says Thank You to PIMking For This Useful Post:
Man, the Seminoles offense is good. hard to justify keeping them third in the polls. They are going to end up getting screwed by Florida and Virginia tech having crappy years.

I dunno. Florida State is a good team but outside of the game against Clemson, they haven't really played anyone.
Pretty hard to look at Oregon's schedule even with Stanford and say it is tougher than well any BCS conference team's. Also pretty hard to justify having Stanford ranked above any of the current unbeatens when they've lost to Utah and beat nobody.
I think Oregons school colors are.... all of them... anymore.
Horrendous stuff and well worth hating.
Well if they were targeting middle aged grumpy men then they failed. Oregon branding over the last decade is maybe the most impressive strategy I have seen in NCAA ball. The only thing that matters if you are in Eugene is your ability to reach into California and Texas for recruits. And it works.

Are you seriously trying to say that the 800 color combinations that the Ducks have used...are some sort of recruiting tool?
Nothing all that impressive to me or millions of others.
Ducks are like the Walt Disney of college football.
