We don't need a goaltender stealing us games until we're ready to compete. Give Gillies a shot in the mean time, and pick up a decent veteran in UFA to partner with him.

I think he's better than that as it's the same stuff people said about Niemi and he's one of the top goaltenders in the league. Flames haven't had a goaltender steal a game since Brent was coaching. Not good enough.

Just great I get home watch the last 5 min of pure Flame domination with what could have been 3 goals and this turd Ramo that I am far from sold on can't do his job and lets an easy goal in with no screen because he is not playing the angle, doesn't even react to the shot. 4 seconds left he just stabbed his team.

TSN has been the main proponent of a rebuild in Calgary then they say high draft picks don't guarantee anything.

That period was energetic on Calgary's part. Not impressed with the turn overs or the weak goal by Ramo. Still though Calgary deserves the lead so far based on the quality of scoring chances they've forced. I wish Glennie would place his shots a little better.

Lol, I concur (right now)
However, he has shown flashes of brilliance. I hope he kicks into gear and becomes an elite entity; complete with sword and shield and sweet armor and guns and stuff.

Well ya, they have to start eating crow about their Oilers loving at some point, good time to start. High draft picks of course don't guarantee a thing.

Duh. Look at Edmonton and Florida for proof of that. Rebuilding means acquiring young pieces to build around through whatever means you can. Drafting is just one of those.

Ramo for the most part has been pretty good. Guy lets in one bad goal and everybody wants to run him out of town. We knew there would be nights like this, the Leafs are a much better team than us even though we are outshooting them.

168 career games 2.39 GAA, .914 SV%. If he's 20'th best goaltender in the league in then Ramo is 80th.

Varlamov got lit up in Washington when they hung him out to dry on a regular basis, caused a lot of frustration on his part and evenutally the trade, IIRC.
Even Kipper couldn't help some of the holes in this defense.

It's an entertaining game for sure. That shorty was a momentum killer.
How many chances did we have that missed by millimetres? 3? 4?
Positives: Colborne, Brodie & Glencross

I realize that, but a convenient time to switch their tune. The Oilers' "strategy" has been praised by TSN for the last three seasons.
