Shots 13-5 for the Flames. One of these has to go in eventually, right?

Ok, I am not liking Hartley's plan to give Colborne way more minutes than he deserves just because he was traded by the Leafs.

Flames are definitely dominating the play despite the score.

Lol yep. Hopefully this equates to more calls going in favour of the flames for the remainder of the game

I dunno man.
Backlund I feel has played a very average game this year. He doesn't really make any nice plays, doesn't really control the play, doesn't really win faceoffs... I can live with him being scratched.
Like most here, Im looking for him to breakout, and I just don't see it yet. Hopefully scratching him gets his butt in gear.
As it stands, my evaluation of him has him centering the 3rd/4th line with little production.

I think he's looked great... regardless of the reason he's out there (which I highly doubt it's because he's a former Leaf... he's one of 3 centers right now).

Points wise? no
All around? yes.
Backlund is getting all the defensive duties due to the fact that he is the only player who can win a faceoff. Monahan also is playing with Sven and Hudler/Stempniak while Backlund has been getting stuck with Jones and Galiardi on 'dependable' lines

He deserves the minutes so far .He has been a threat on every shift, as well as playing physical.
