Agreed. Seattle and New Orleans have been the talk of the NFC, and the media seem to be keeping San Fran in the back of their mind as well. But it surprises me how little we're hearing about Green Bay, they've very quietly rattled off 4 straight W's and are only one game behind the Seahawks and Saints. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they're playing @ MetLife in February.

Was hoping for a Seahawks loss last night (that finish was such a tease), as you're right, either of Seattle or New Orleans would be very tough outs at home in the playoffs. Looking at the remaining skeds, Seattle has an easier finish to the season, with their only real tests being back to back games against New Orleans and San Fran. Saints can't afford many off-games the rest of the way if they want home field advantage. That Saints @ Seahawks MNF game on Dec. 2nd may very well be for the #1 seed.

...and yes, I was as surprised as you to see a non-Sunday match-up on the NFL sked that wasn't junk. Wow those have been epically bad so far.

It seems the rouge gets most of the attention when it comes to bad CFL rules. But I actually think my most hated is the fact that even having the tip of your finger graze the ball for a millisecond before it rolls out of bounds is enough to be considered "possession". Just awful.

And fyi, I'm a CFL fan. It's the reason I'm even a football fan in the first place.

The backfield has actually been fine since Bradley Fletcher came back. Nate Allen has been playing better, and swapping Earl Wolff in for Pat Chung seems to have helped as well. The defense has only allowed just over 18 points per game since the Denver debacle.

Also, it looks like Nick Foles is back this week. I haven't decided if that's good or bad yet. The good news is they have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way. They'll get smoked at Lambeau next week, but the rest of the slate are all winnable games. 9-7 or 8-8 isn't totally out of the question. Although, I wouldn't be overly pissed if they lost every game from here on out and drafted Mariota in the spring.

And they are in the cupcake part of their schedule.

Looking forward, I truly do expect they finish with 11 wins and quite possibly 12. Spilt with Chicago, lose on Thanksgiving in Detroit, and maybe in Dallas if they get their D in order...but beyond that they have a bit if a breeze. Dont imagine that will be good enough for a 1 or 2 seed, but they will host a playoff game at the frozen tundra.

Just a brutal Sunday for Matt Ryan. Cardinals defenders caught more passes (four) than Falcons receivers (three) on Ryan throws at least 15 yards downfield.

Over the past four games, Ryan Tannehill has no touchdowns and five interceptions on throws deeper than 10 yards downfield. The Dolphins are 0-4 in that span.

The only quarterback with more 400-yard games in a season than Philip Rivers' three is Dan Marino in 1984 (four). The Redskins defense looks capable of helping Rivers make history.

Peyton Manning was 1-of-8 for 16 yards with two interceptions on passes thrown at least 15 yards downfield Sunday. Four of Manning's six interceptions this year were on deep throws.

Jamaal Charles had 120 of the Chiefs' 331 yards Sunday. Charles has accounted for 38.5 percent of the Chiefs' yards from scrimmage this season, highest of any running back.

Jermichael Finley says he will play football again.

Finley, who spent four nights in an area hospital -- including one night in intensive care -- said his motor skills, coordination and balance are all back to normal. He confirmed that he sustained a spinal cord contusion -- a two-centimeter bruise that is expected to heal.

"Of course I plan to play football again," Finley wrote. "This is what I love to do. I love the game. I love Sundays. Based on the feedback I've received from doctors at this point, the question is not if I'll play again, but when."

"I'm getting anxious sitting around all day, but I know my neck is healing," he wrote. "I am confident that I will be part of a new case study of players who returned to football successfully after suffering neck and head trauma. Just like we see every year with ACL recovery, anything is possible when you combine drive and commitment with a tremendous support system and team, and amazing advances in science and medicine."

Nobody talks about the Packers because at the moment I'd argue they're the most consistent franchise in the NFL. 4 straight years in the playoffs, 5 years out of 6, 3 division titles and a Super Bowl and always a major threat to win it all. They'd get more talk if they were 3-4 but at 5-2 it's just more of the same.

On the opposite end of the spectrum I saw that since 1997 the Cowboys are an incredible 132-132. The most mediocre of franchises, and yet they've probably gotten more run than every Super Bowl champion since 1997 combined. Jerry really knows how to keep his team relevant, if not successful.

I'm not sure playing on the frozen tundra is good for a passing offence. I think they can win on the road anywhere.

Calvin Johnson has 440 receiving yards in the last six quarters. Charles Rogers had 440 receiving yards in his NFL career. The Lions took both receivers with the No. 2 overall pick.

And most of those probably came in his first couple career games. Still can't believe what a bust he turned out to be, the way he exploded out of the gate. I remember watching his first career game (think it was against AZ), dude looked like he was going to be a superstar. Then he broke his collarbone, and it was all downhill from there

Oakland was probably the worst place an individual like him could go. If he has cut ties with his home town and his past. I'm sure he could find a nice NFL city to start a new life.

Anything is possible. It's no secret that the Chiefs, just like the Broncos and the Chargers, are benifiting from an easy schedule this year. Well as we all know trends are somewhat useless, but I think this is the 6th straight season where the Chiefs and Bills have played each other and the Bills have won 4 of those games. They put up over 50 at Arrowhead with Trent Edwards at QB, than won like 41-34 at Arrowhead the first year the Chiefs had Matt Cassel at QB, KC needed OT to beat a winless Bills team the following year, than the Bills crushed the Chiefs 41-7 to open the next year, and last year rolled them up pretty good in Orchard Park running out to a 28-3 lead before the game ended 35-17 or something like that.

So in 4 of those 5 games the Bills have put up 35 or more points against previous Chiefs teams. The Bills for the most part have been staying in games, and have been a tough team at home this year.

True, but this Chiefs team is different! They are not turning the ball over every quarter. They are getting pressure on the QB, unlike those seasons you mentioned. Thier average starting field position has greatly improved. They are pinning the oposition deep thanks to the punting of Dustin Colquitt.

I'm looking forward to a great game. The greatest thing about sports, is that anything can happen.

49ers rode a new coach, Alex Smith, Frank Gore and a stout defense to the NFC Championship game. Nothing wrong with that formula. Enjoy the ride.

Normally i would agree...but weather has never really affected Rodgers to a great extent, and beyond that...they can truly run the ball now. 3rd in the NFL in rush yds per game.

Its a different GB team than it has been in a long long time.

All that being said, I still believe that SF, New Orleans and Seattle would beat them at home based on whatb we have seen thus far this year.

I was going to chime in and say you guys could be Vikings fans this year. Although Chiefs fans have had to endure similar years to this.
