Has Oilfan81 been around lately? I haven't seen him and he is not one to have extended Easter dinners or whatever it is Oilers fans do.

Not calling him out or anything, just actually curious.

I think a major difference between the Flames and the Oilers is their perception. The Flames wanted to see a more complete game from Sven. They vocalized this before the season publicly, and benched him for the Dallas game. Many fans, including myself, were upset with the benching and wondered how he would react to two different forms of public lashing. The Oilers keep preaching that they deserve better, the plan is fine and/or they were unlucky. I hope they continue this train of thought.

Although I wish the management would keep the critical comments about players out of the media, I do appreciate that they are thinking critically about each player. It will make each player, and the team, stronger in the long run. The Oilers seem content to think everything will end up okay as long as they sign their star names to long, and expensive, contracts. Don't ever change Edmonton.

Yup I am still here. I don't post anywhere close to what I did in previous seasons because I'm busy with work, school, and other things. I post mainly on Sunday's in the NFL thread.

As far as the Oilers go, it's embarassing. How long has it been since it's been known that defense and goaltending have to improve yet it's the same crap year after year? I don't really post in these anymore because it just frustrates me but I'm still around.

For 96 points, they should have 16.5 points right now. They are less than halfway there.

They are on pace for 47 points. The Flyers managed 56 points in 60-07 (lowest since shootouts).

No team has even had less than 50 since 2000 when the Bettman point came into play. If anyone can do it...
Good thing they created the "Oilers rule"(worst team has a lower chance of getting first overall pick). Haha, stupid Oilers.

Oilers already out partying after the game.

This is why the Flames insisted Monahan billet.

Well to be fair they have 4 nights off, you can't expect them to go home and mope for 4 days while staring at posters of their next opponent.

If they had a game tomorrow night then you raise hell, I doubt that they even have practice.

And

What the hell am I doing defending the Oilers when I should be laughing?

It is so hilarious to watch this team lose so much so badly. And it's eve netter that the media is finally turning on them... Realizing what we here on CP have been saying all along: this team hasn't gotten any better and won't with the core that they have decided to build on.

Funny thing is that MacT is stuck now... The team is so far back of a playoff spot now that the season is no longer salvageable... And he can't just give up cause he was saying things are going to be different this year. Yakupov's value continues to plummet every day and he won't be worth a 2nd round pick by the end of the month. Don't try to make excuses that he is young and he is still learning... The problem is that he is not learning at all! He hasn't changed his game or responded to the coaching staff one bit.

I would bet every one of their "stars" is hoping they are the one that gets dealt and quick cause they have to be tired of being soooo bad. I bet any team in the NHL looks like greener pastures to them at this point (including buffalo).

Got home from work to watch the Sens/'Hawks game on DVR...Sens loss could have been worse, as the 'Hawks were testing Anderson early...the Sens D let him down badly as the game progressed...the 'Hawks made Karlsson pay for being too aggressive both in the neutral zone and in his own end on Hossa's goal and Toews' second goal...

Toews gets a hat-trick plus and assist...

The Sens chased Khabibulin with 3 goals on 7 shots in the 2nd, soft goals at that...his rebound control was non-existant...and he is sitting around .818 save percentage over his 3 games...with Antti Raanta doing well in Rockford, a lot of 'Hawk fans feel that Khabibulin is spent, and should be waived. For myself, I would prefer to have Raanta get more starts than he would get with the big club...if Khabibulin is done, fine, but just find a journeyman to back CC up.

RNH & Eberle on the prowl.

The only reasons either of those scrawny runts get any:

a) pro hockey players.
b) Edmonton.

Embarrassing on ice display by the Oil. Nothing new.

Badly built team, badly iced game. Yakupov is a disgrace. Plays like a junior player. Beaver tail? Yeesh. Stupid lazy play

I once got crap from our back-up goalie on the bench for saying the word... when we were the team getting shut out!!

I just about punched him.

What a weird night on the OOT, 6 out of 8 games have a 1 goal difference and all of them ended in reg time. The score 3 straight in their come from behind win, 3-2 over Philly. The Rangers also come from behind and get 2 goals in the 3rd period to beat the Islanders 3-2. The Blues get the winning goal on the PP with a minute left in the 3rd to beat the Jets 3-2, Steen with the winner. The Price was right with 25 saves against the Stars as the Habs beat Dallas 2-1. Brodeur looks like he is #1 again with Schneider injured. The Devils beat the Lightning 2-1 as Jagr scores in this game. Shoot out the lights in Chicago! The Bhawks are in another all offense game, this time winning it 6-5 over the Senators. In the 2nd period, both teams scored 5 goals. The Coyotes win again with Mike Smith strong in goal, 3-1 over the Kings. Jeff Rimer gets the SHUTOUT over the stupid Oilers, 4-0. I feel dirty saying this but the Leafs are playing well.

Am I the only person that thinks Justin Schultz should be converted to a winger? He can't play defense and there were four 2 on 1's last nigh directly due to his pinches. I'm not sure why Eakins is letting him continue to play this way but it will destroy his game like Phaneuf's got damaged under Keenan. They either need to teach him to pick his spots better or just put him on the wing as you can't win with guys playing like that.

Maybe he just shouldn't be in the league.
