The Thrashers eliminated a pesky New York Rangers team from the CPHL playoffs last night and await a finals matchup with either the Wild of Minnesota or the Wings of Detroit.
Once again the team aspect came out in the victory. Special teams, goaltending, defence and scoring were key components of the victory.
Craig Conroy and Darryl Sydor each scored a powerplay goal with Martin St Louis adding his 9th of the playoffs midway through the 2nd period. Bill Guerin also continued his hot play with 2 assists on the night.
The Thrashers would like to thank Rangers GM flambers for an excellent series, a series we werent overly confident of winning. The Rangers have made huge steps this year and Roloson certainly took them another step closer to the Cup.
Watch out for the New Yorkers next season!
