They are showing the emails on the TV right now and as a conservative party member I have to reluctantly agree that this looks very bad for our party. I'm disgusted that our party funds may have been used in this way. What's worse is that there was a no comment from the party lawyer when asked about this. It just doesn't pass the smell test.

Did you actually read the initial press release for Wright's resignation? Well if not here it is again.

Sounds to me like right here Harper is very sad to see him go. Again this isn't some out of context quote, its the PMO's official press release. Now maybe its me but I don't think retroactively saying you fired the guy 6 months later comes off as very sincere or believable when you consider the initial press release. In fact it screams "Well who can we throw under the bus now?".
Its insanely, hilariously ironic that you blasted defense lawyers before, yet now the CPC is using every possible defense laweyer tactic (and you yourself are using them) to try and push the dirt elsewhere. Screams of desperation and deflecting.

Here are the two e-mails between Duffy and Wright that Duffy tabled in the Senate...
Only between Duffy and Wright and as a matter of fact Harper isn't even mentioned in either.

from Nigel Wright to Mike Duffy is in the heading. Don't be blind, you are making our case laughable.

Edit: Just noticed my typing mistake... Meant to say they are only between Duffy and Wright.
I'm not disputing that Wright is involved. What I am disputing is that Harper is. .... and these e-mails show nothing of his involvement... only Wrights....
Just because Wright is involved does not mean Harper is... even if you and all the Harper haters say its so.

So what you're saying Rerun is Harper is a terrible leader with no control over anyone around him, even though he hand picked every one around him? That he somehow knows nothing happening in his own office, a sign of either incompetence or ignorance?
That's what we've all been saying too. Well, to most of us thats the best case scenario for Harper, but thanks for agreeing.

The controller at the company I work for just got fired but amazingly enough the e-mail that was sent around said almost exactly the same thing.
Rarely does anyone get actually fired (except coaches). Most companies will allow you to tender your resignation before it comes to that....
The controller, just like Wright, got fired.

So Rerun, I'm still interested in knowing what you think of the $13,500 cheque that paid for the legal fees of Duffy? That one is released and we know that the CPC lawyer paid that to his lawyer. I'm very interested in knowing where that money came from!
The allegation about the "RBC loan" being a line from a script that was concocted by the PMO and fed to Duffy is pretty damning testimony. If that is proven, its a huge blow to the PMO, and in turn the PM.

I'm not saying he's a terrible leader. I think the opposite.
As to no control... why don't you get your complaints straight... most to the time you complain that he has too much control! LOL
Also, being ignorant of what something your Chief of Staff has done is a far cry from engineering or even participating in a cover up.... and when Harper did find out about it, he asked for Wright's resignation.

I'm guessing a company isn't putting out knowingly false releases. I'm guessing the release you saw mentioned something to the effect of "Individual X is leaving us" or "Individual X is no longer with us", something with enough ambiguity that the words fired or resigned are not mentioned. Because quite frankly, its insanely unprofessional and incredibly bad form to talk openly about the specifics of an employees departure, particularly in a general company wide e-mail. This is why HR departments exist, to avoid these errors.
The PMO press release straight up says resigned. So basically what you're saying is the PMO knowingly puts out false/misleading information to the general public. What a great alternative.

To tell you the truth, I don't know what to think about the $13,500. I'll wait until the whole story comes out before I throw anybody under the bus.... not just take Duffy's word on it. All the cheque shows is that it was paid, not why it was paid or exactly what expenses were paid.

Well it could be wise to wait. There are really two options. It could be CPC money...which has to anger a lot of CPC donors and supporters. It could be public money, which obviously would mean the public at large will be angry. Just for pure curiosity and because I can't miss the chance to watch a train wreck, guess what I'm hoping for?

The PMO press release says he resigned. Why would they embarrass him and say he was asked to resign? No reason whatsoever so that is why there was no mention made of it.
Also, why did he resign unless forced to? Again, no reason whatsoever.
This is a stupid argument over semantics.
