Sending a ticket or tickets to a guest you are calling them into action and they have absolutely zero investment into the ticket, if a snowstorm, if they can't figure out how to print, forget to print, procrastinate, and then forget there is even a game because the ticket isn't printed out and on the fridge, the game gets wasted, or who knows if the guest will even use the ticket, not too far fetched with this Flames team on the ice.

I read somewhere that paperless 'money' ie, gift cards were HUGE as far as unused cards, unused money, out of sight and out of mind, lost in electronic limbo, etc. This is a tactic used by corporations to take advantage of the busy common man, who forgot he still had 45 bucks on that Home Depot gift card, 45 bucks to the air.

This is something very similar, fact remains that tickets are currency, sometimes worth lots, sometimes worth zero. The ticket agent handed me my book at the Rangers game telling me how easy it is to use the 'card', yet she didn't realize I did not have a guest and would need the printed ticket pair for tonight's game to trade with the gentleman on the bridge for the Club single. Otherwise I would of just sat in my seat and eaten the empty seat beside me.... no thanks.

Basically it means the Flames have created a full time/part time ticket distribution agent with each 'season ticket holder', and the pay is absolute crap. I work on a computer all day and the last thing i want to do is log onto MYflames account and email off game tickets, that is not convenience, its work, i have better things to do with my time, send me the book and i will hand out the tickets personally... never failed me before.
The bolded has to be some of the dumbest crap I've read in regards to why printed tickets are better. Basically a whole bunch of grabage about the Flames being responsible for guarding against natural disasters and customer stupidity.

There are so many equally dumb counters to those points about why Printed tickets are bad:

- What if the ticket book is left at home and the house burns down.
- What if someone with a printed ticket decides to shove it down a paper shedder because they forgot it was sitting on top of a pile of papers.
- What if the ticket holder is a smoker, and is holding the ticket while they light a smoke and the ticket catches on fire by accident.
- What if the ticket holder puts it in his back pocket, forgets it's not in his wallet, looks in his wallet, doesn't see it and then assumes there's not game and doesn't go.

And so on and so forth.

I pay monthly and I haven't had any issues transferring tickets in March, didn't have to call the ticket rep. Maybe if you share the tickets and are transferring more than what have already been paid for?

I have to say, I think the new system is great. I went to one game using the cards. I've emailed a bunch of games, and printed a set to give to an employee, and I got emailed a set that a friend couldn't use that I printed out and used, and another set that I forwarded to someone else. Free transfers is what makes this work, really well.

Although in the old days I could see if the tickets were used or just went to waste, I can't do that any more, once they're transferred they're gone from my account.

Ran into Rollie at the Tailgate party tonight at the home opener.

Wanted to confirm if you could email yourself a PDF of your tickets, and that they would scan you in off your phone successfully. I wanted to ask this question, as I don't have a printer at home, or if you forgot your season ticket cards at home, you could access your account and email the game.

He said YES. This doesn't mean that I have tried this and verified but I felt that if anyone could confirm it would be him.

He then went on to say that they were working on an update to the phone app's, and that your e-tickets would work through the APP. Which was really cool. He said they hope to have this available in 3-4 months.

I also had some trouble with transferring tickets with an unpaid balance. Didn't think to call the rep. Just paid the balance off.

I sent the PDF to my phone for last night's game, and had no issues at all. That was with an iPhone 5 with no screen protector. However I think part of the trick is to make sure you re-size the bar code to be about the same size as what you would have on the paper copy.

The usher barely even batted an eye about scanning a phone; seems like many people are doing this.

Just noticed that in the recent Calgary Flames Newsletter, they had this little banner added into it.

I don't recall seeing any official announcement for this yet. But I gave it a shot, and can't seem to figure out to how link my Flames account with it. Has anyone else tried this out yet?

I have season's tickets for a different team and don't much like paperless tickets. I have ticket cards and used to like giving someone an actual ticket. I can't do that now.

It hasn't come up yet but I don't know if my fee to email them is waived. Plus, if I give someone my card to use I risk it's non return due to loss or someone forgetting. I imagine this is way of the future so we need to get used to it, I suppose.

Right now there is no fee for emailing Flames tickets which is awesome.

I think the Flames are still working on this. I recall them mentioning it would be later in the season. Maybe someone jumped the gun or it is a standard template from the NHL.

I would imagine once it goes through it would be in the manage tickets drop down when all is said and done (currently there is print, email, and donate)

Just got a STH update email that says the Exchange site will be launching later this week.

Ticket Resale Site for Season Ticket Holders Coming This Week

The Flames will be announcing a new ticket resale option for season ticket holders later this week, stay tuned for more details.

Also, new security measures including bag checks and metal detector wands. So, leave the giant purses at home, ladies.

Yuck! The worst part about going to NFL games is waiting in line to pass through security. Now I need to stand out in the freezing cold at Flames games as well?

How do I sell my tickets?

An easy to follow step by step guide on how to sell your tickets through NHL TicketExchange is available by CLICKING HERE

1. Visit My Flames Account --> CLICK HERE
2. Log in using your Account ID and Password
3. Select Manage Your Tickets
4. Select the tickets you would like to sell
5. Click to post them for sale – it’s that easy!

There is no fee for posting tickets and the process is secure - simply select the tickets you wish to sell, determine the selling price and the expiration date, and submit the listing. Editing your posting at any time is quick and easy.

If you require technical support for NHL TicketExchange, please contact the help line at 877-578-3592. Customer Care is available daily 7 am – 9 pm MT.

What happens when my tickets are sold?

Once your posted tickets are purchased, you will receive the sale price less the 10% seller fee. The previous barcodes on your sold tickets are cancelled and new barcodes are issued to the buyer. The new tickets are electronically delivered to the buyer via ticketFast® for at-home printing using any standard printer, without the hassle and delay of standard mail delivery.

You may receive a refund in the following ways:

1. Apply credit towards your Flames account.
2. Request to have a cheque issued by Ticketmaster when your seats are sold.

What happens if my tickets do not sell?

You will be notified via email if your tickets do not sell before your indicated expiration date. Your listing will be automatically removed and your original tickets will still be valid for entry. If you cannot attend the game, you also have the option of emailing your tickets to a friend via Ticket Forwarding.

Are there additional fees?

Sellers pay fees only when their posted tickets have sold. Buyers pay fees during the purchase process. Additional fees to the buyer may also include an authentication and ticketFast® delivery fee.

How do I purchase additional game tickets?

Need extra tickets to the game? Use TicketExchange to purchase additional Flames tickets directly from other Season Ticket or Game Pack Holders. Buying through TicketExchange is safe, secure, and easy, and with email delivery, you'll receive your extra tickets right away.

Who do I contact for technical support?

If you require technical support for NHL TicketExchange, please contact the help line at 877-578-3592. Customer Care is available daily 7 am – 9 pm MT.

Everything seems to be working well on the site. It looks like the only price restriction is that you can't sell below your own cost.

So this is no different than StubHub except that Ticketmaster now gets to take more of your money.

You don't pay a 15% buyers fee on Stubhub. So ticketmaster is getting 25%

On StubHub both the buyer and seller pay a 10% premium (previously 10% buyer and 15% seller). Because of the new way of showing the tickets, the buyer doesn't see the premium already built in. It's similar to airlines required to give you the all in price, net of all taxes charges etc. When you list on StubHub you are shown what your portion will be (90%) of selling price, and what price the buyer will see (110% of the list price), so StubHub is getting 20% of the selling price. Here, Ticketmaster is getting 25%.
