It's not square. There is a point on the front shoulders.

When you consider how many of those idea board logos had a western/cowboy theme, it is actually a little surprising that those shoulders ended up as the only Cowboyesque part of the jersey, and incredibly subtle at that.

Anyone else notice that the laces were laced and tied at the bottom in all the media/sale pictures (and how they were sold yestedat) but all the players had re-laced them to be tied at the top.

The "outfit" part is fine...it's the logo that's lame. Put a normal Flaming C on there, and I could get behind it just fine. Still not as great as 2004 or the glory years, but it would've been passable.

I don't hate the jersey itself as much as I hate the approach the Flames take towards jerseys. I don't like how at almost every opportunity there is to redesign a jersey, or introduce a new thrid jersey, the Flames take it. Maybe it's good business in the short term, but overall it cheapens the brand of the organization. Retro-White, retro-red full time and if they absolutely must then have the current red jersey as the third. Then leave the jersey design the fata alone forever.

What Cowboy said.
I'll deal with the ridiculous logo on the 3rd jersey if it means we get the retro home and aways back full time.

I don't follow many other teams and their jersey evolutions but I thought Calgary had very few jerseys compared to others.
Obviously the heritage classic game produced a one time jersey but besides that we're have what..... 3 sets of home/ways and two different thirds (horse head + retros) over the last 15 years?

I have nothing but time...
The left is the 2, the right is the 5 (upper right and lower left are "normal", upper left and lower right are "flipped").
The cross bar on both numbers is slightly above the middle of the number, so they are slightly different.

Flames actually haven't been that bad. We seem to use jerseys for a 6 or 7 season period before we switch them up.
We have had one set since the forced Edge change, and only the retros in that time period as a third. So the same set of jerseys from 2007-2013.
Before that we had a set that was used from 2000-2006. The pedestal jerseys were used from 95-2000, and the classic retros from 81-94.
I actually think this is a precursor to a re-stylized version of the retros becoming our new home and away jerseys next season, with black only being used on the thirds.
On a different note I actually kind of liked the 5 when I first saw it yesterday.

Well, the good thing is, this will never become the primary jersey since it doesn't have the primary logo. It is also too similar, colour wise, to the current home jersey. So when they do change up the home jersey, it'll probably be a different colour scheme than what they currently wear. To me, the only colour scheme that makes sense is the red, gold and white (no black).
Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I hate the Leafs and Habs as much as the next guy, but I like how they are extremely conservative with their jerseys. They make small adjustments here and there, but it always seems like a nice evolution, as opposed to hamfisted marketing grab. They know they have a fantastic brand and know they shouldn't mess with it. Continuity helps build long-term brand equity...nobody respects a company that reinvents itself every 5 years. The Flames need to take a lesson from these clubs and realize they have a good story that doesn't need to be messed with. We don't need to start including "western" themes and fake heritage that was never there.
Btw, in my experience, people in "Marketing" always ruin everything. They are the people who aren't clever enough for Creative or smart enough for Business, yet always seem to think they can do both.

I am always pro-wordmarks. I love these jerseys. I would love them more without the flaming C on the front.

No one will ever accept it, for it is apparently not our colour, despite being on our jerseys for a longer time than we were without it.
Aside from the number 5 thing (which, as shown, is different from the 2, so thanks to the person who made the comparison!) I don't really feel too strong either way. I hated the EA leak, but I KNOW EA makes jerseys look awful, so I figured I would wait. Now that I've seem them? They really aren't bad. They are a pretty great third jersey.
Everyone has this thing about the retros, which is great and I'm all for having them as our home/away set if that's what happens (or a version of them.... with some black ) but this is about a third jersey. I'm not sure I understand what the concern is here when there wasn't much in the way of actual third jersey ideas brought up on here that we're even close to better. A few good ideas for home/away sets, but nothing in terms of actually solid ideas for the thirds. Plus, the retros still exist, so what exactly is the point of complaining about these in reference to the retros when the retros are still being used?
Overall, not bad. Good for a third, glad it's not our home/away set, but either way it'll be fun to see them in-game.

Because they're barely going to be used. A Good portion (myself included) love them so much that they want them to become the primary jersey's; or have ones that embrace the colour and striping elements of it.
