That Tavares/Vanek pairing is going to be amazing. Brilliant move for Isles. Steep price but I bet we hear he resigns very soon.

Man, that is a lot to give up for a guy who was pouting in Buffalo. The Islanders need to re-sign Vanek, or this is a loss for them.

That's a steep price. Makes me wonder what another natural goal scorer like Cammalleri would fetch at the deadline.

That seems like a really steep price to pay for a pending UFA, a guy who is better than Moulson but not by much.
Darcy Regier saves his job. Don't really understand it for the Isles...is Vanek going to be that much better than Moulson will (as a linemate for Tavares)? If he doesn't re-sign it would be a disaster...but no doubt the Islanders will open up the vault to keep him.

Not disagreeing in the least but I can't imagine the isles giving up those assets without some sort of deal in place.

the two best Austrians on one team  I hope they'll have a Vanek - Tavares - Grabner line at some point. Vanek-Tavares could be a lethal combination.
Huge return for the Sabres, but this could very well be a win-win for both teams ... IF Vanek re-signs on the Island
