They are 3rd worst in YPG and 6th worst in Scoring Defense. I know that Peyton scores fast, but if their D was even serviceable it would be top 20. Also, postseason is a different monster than regular season. Denver could win both of those and still lose in the playoffs. I wasn't comparing the two anyways I was talking about the Chiefs making noise in the playoffs, not really at the expense of the Broncos. However, I could see the Broncos fold in the playoffs.

I think people are selling the Chiefs a little short. That defense is easily the league's best, there are elite playmakers at every level of the D. When you have a defense that good you don't need a spectacular offense, you need an efficient offense and thats what the Chiefs have. Score 21 a game with that defense and you will win a lot of games. I think the Chiefs match up very well with the Broncos because they can rush only 4 or 5 yet still absolutely terrorize Peyton. Hali and Houston are a scary duo.
As to the Bucs, I suspect Schiano survives until the end of the year. It's amazing that they were 6-4 and a possible playoff team last year. 1-11 since that time and the win was a meaningless week 17 win. The Bucs are like the Chiefs, 49ers and Seahawks before they found a good coach and QB. Lots of talent, just need a few pieces. Should be the most desired coaching vacancy this offseason at least.

Stats don't tell the whole story. I'll just leave it at that.
At the end of the season, I believe the Broncos D will be ranked far above where they are now.
That Dallas game is really skewing things and when you are missing 5 starters on D after the first 5 minutes of the game you generally are going to be impacted negatively.
I'm not saying they're lights out. But they are a better defense than most people give them credit for. Especially with Miller back.

Great article about the cap hell the Cowboys are about to be in, and of course why Jerry Jones is the worst GM in all of sports
Quote:
Off the field last weekend, the Cowboys were asserting their own shortcomings through the media. One report noted that the Cowboys were unhappy with injured running back DeMarco Murray, a player who fell to their third-round pick of the 2011 draft specifically because he had so many injury issues at Oklahoma. The report suggested that the Cowboys wanted to replace Murray and upgrade at running back " … possibly in a big way," implying that the Cowboys would be looking to acquire a big-ticket running back who is being paid a premium salary. Hours later, Adam Schefter tweeted that the Cowboys are expected to be $31 million over the salary cap next year, with an NFL executive decrying their financial situation as "a train wreck."

3 days until the trade deadine. I wish Indy would do a 3rd for Nicks deal! I think teams like Atlanta, etc are waiting for after this weekend's games to see where they are at. If Atlanta drops to 2-5, I think KC could look at a guy like Gonzalez.

Gonzalez has stated he does not want to be dealt...but that could change.
I just dont see to many deals going down. It seems like NFL guys just dont like doing player swaps, and draft picks are just so valuable to them.

Well in a league where you get 7 draft picks every year to help you build a 53 man roster plus practice squad I can see why teams don't trade picks for rental players. It would be nostalgic to get TG back in KC, but how well would he know the offence the Chiefs are running.
A guy to watch is former Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki, he just reached an injury settlement with KC, so someone else looking for TE help can start looking to sign him off the street.

This Saints / Bills game has been so frustrating. Missing easy FG's...drive-killing penalties galore on offence...####!

Credit does have to go to the Bills defense. They have been carrying this game so far. They were only inches away from this being a 10-3 game rather then 10-7

Brady's first half- he goes 6 for 8 for 25 yards with 1 interception. Yikes. What the heck is happening with the pats? 59 total yards and the are down 17 - 3

So I thought I saw the Eagles on the Giants 2 yard line, yet come away with no points?

They're playing very well...I'm specifically talking about Hartley schanking that 2nd easy FG, and all the false start / delay of game penalties. When you're in the red zone, and turn a 3rd & 1 into a 3rd & 11 after back to back false start penalties - at home - it makes Sainters go something something
Started to finally get it going late in the first half at least. I've said this before on here, but the potential of Kenny Stills has me very excited. Almost forget Meachem's back on the team.

Sounds like Brandon Gibson is done for the year after tearing his knee up in the 1st half.
Something very wrong with that NE offense that goes beyond Brady's hand. Its odd to see.
