do red cookies give chains now? when I had red cookies before it was always 1/2 production, now I just keep the grannies appeased all the time

Red cookies have always given cookie chains, and they're easier to get than with golden cookies too. There's also an Elder Frenzy, which is 666x production and clicking for 6 (12) seconds. The downside is that red cookies have a much higher chance to give you clot or ruin.

I ran the math and depending on how often you click the red cookies are better until about 200 if you click lots to 330 if you don't click. The chains appear about every 20 cookies with 1 in 5 giving you 66q

but with red cookies you can never get the Frenzy + Clicking Frenzy overlap which generates about 400Qa for me in 26 sec. which happens about 1 in 30 times you have a Frenzy ( which is half the time)

Like I said it depends on how often you click the cookie. How are you getting 401.50 quad from a click frenzy though. At 10 clicks per second thats 1.53 quad per click which means pre multipliers you would need 328 billion per click. With clicks being less than 10% of your CPS that implies a CPS of 3.28 trillion. So of course at that level of CPS you would be better off with gold cookies. Or if you cheat and use an Autoclicker gold cookies become better much sooner.
With high click rates and high CPS golden cookies are better. With average click rates (sub 10 clicksps), 26 q bank and sub 200 billion cps (up to 330 if you play on an Ipad) red cookies are better again.
Although I now have to recalculate that as the latest boost appears to have guarenteed frenzy/lucky combos which significantly increases the gold cookie yields.
Alright I think I'm finally done with this game, finally hit the 777 Golden Cookie Clicks for the last Achievement. I think I'll reset one more time to see how many Heavenly Chips I get.
Ugh, the only achievements left for me to get is 100 condensers and 100 of everything, but I can't see myself getting 100 condensers in the next week...I can't believe I'm gonna have to reset again. At 84 condensers it's 500 trillion a pop now. I also need to get to 240 Cursors to get the last upgrade for that but it's already 150 trillion a pop for one of those at 215. I'm doing 300 billion CPS with a frenzy so it takes forever.
As for upgrades, according to the wiki I need 2000 heavenly chips to be able to buy all the cookie upgrades, so I guess I won't plan on getting that at all, since I only have 185. I suppose I can quit the game being happy having 100% achievements at least.
Clearly you need to reset for the CPS boost from Heavenly Chips. The game is more fun when you blaze through the early game (though not as quickly now that you have to buy heavenly chip unlocks).
