Good to Baertschi respond the way he did in the first period.

Wideman with a strong period. We need him to up his game to help with the loss og Gio in the lineup.

Love the way we move the puck around on the PP. If it wasn't for Holtby and his saves we would had another goal.
Can someone fill me in on why Sven was scratched?

Fantastic period otherwise. If the Flames could ever figure out how to play defense they would be a very dangerous team
I didnt think so at all. He had one play where he threw it in front of the net and it was picked off, but it wasn't too bad of a play regardless.

He threw some hits and worked it well down low. He had the puck hop on him once and got hit in the span of 5 seconds which I think everyone has burned into their memory

Friedman tries to focus on Wideman and NOPE! Back to Holtby.

I don't mind Friedman or Hrudey. They both have a fair bit of hockey sense.
The rest though...

The narrative that calgary has no skill is lazy. Not a perfect team by any means but more puck skills than the team that went to the finals in 04 out there.

They had a rough start but are on a win streak now I think.

Problem is if Ovi isn't giving 110%, the team falters. They're doing better than I thought they'd be without Ribeiro. It's the same reason I was a fan of the Iginla deal. The new way isn't to build a team around a franchise player, it's to get a very well rounded team (Just look at Boston)

Russell is the surprise if the season so far. Liked him coming out of junior but lost faith he could skate a regular shift in the NHL. Great story this season so far
