I know he has been sitting for awhile and may be rusty but Garbagekov showing why he spent the last couple of years in the KHL and couldn't crack the Oikerd pathetic defense he us awful, even for an Oilers defenseman.

That Yandle block will be on highlights. Lead to a goal. Oilers are some kinda weak.

Grebeshkov is truly awful. Belov looks alright though
Oilers are down 5-4 and have blown two leads in this game. 7 minutes left in the third

Oilers had a 4-3 lead and then two straight power play goals by the Coyotes. Dubnyk was injured very early in the game.

I don't think Dubnyk got hurt. I think Labarbara started, got pulled after goal 3 and then put back in after a timeout

Yakupov escapes a minus as his lazy line change helps result in an odd-man rush against and a goal.
He makes up for it by being the goat on the 2-1 goal.
Labarbera got yanked after blowing his lid on his teammates after the three goals tipped by his own players go by him.
Oilers scored a beauty to tie it up at 3. Oilers score another one off a double deflection and are up 4-3.
Yotes defenders score back to back goals from near the point on the power play, Labarbera with no chance on either goal, blows his lid again at his appalling defense.

I was wondering about that because the game summary shows that Dubnyk played only 39 seconds.

I love nights/days where there are lots of games. I just hate how there's always a day right after it that has only a couple games

The Blackhawks brought up a couple youngsters for tonight...Handzus sits: "upper body injury" (although many 'Hawk fans would claim "cement skates syndrome")...and Brandon Bollig or Ben Smith scratched, although, most 'Hawk fans would like to see what Smith can do...Jeremy Morin and Brad Mills will dress...
Morin probably goes to 3rd line RW with Shaw centering him and Bickell...
In a move that many 'Hawk fans disagree with, Kruger goes to #2 Center (a lot of 'Hawk fans would like to see Brandon Pirri get a shot at it)...
Probable forward lines from Friday's skate:
Saad-Toews-Hossa,
Sharp-Kruger-Kane,
Bickell-Shaw-Morin,
Bollig/Smith-Pirri-Mills

Any reason they keep forcing that Brandon Saad in first line thing?
Are they just trying to spread out scoring and have him as a warm body there because he looks like garbage and a clear step behind when I watch him.

Moon...Saad did well with Toews out of the gate last year...Bickell seemed to wilt a little under the pressure of living up to the new contract, and started to take off recently when dropped down with grinders like Shaw and Kruger...
In any case, Q really shuffles lines a lot after puck drop...and, of course, you KNOW Q is concerned when he goes Sharp/Toews/Kane to load up the top line.
Edit: In the pre-season, Saad was given every opportunity to slot in between Sharp and Hossa as the #2 Center...he did miserably there, and now it is between Handzus (who looks WAYYYyy too slow this year), Kruger (more suited to a 3rd line to play as a Defensive forward), and Pirri (who lit up the AHL in scoring last year)

Labarbera is terrible. I have no idea what the Oilers were thinking signing him to backup a starter that isn't exactly starter material. They really needed more of a 1B goaltender than a fringe backup goaltender. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Oilers acquire a goaltender in the near future.

So the Oilers lose to the Yotes 5-4 to drop to 3-8-1
With that the Oilers are on track for a stunning 47 points.
If the Oilers need 94 points minimum to get to the playoffs they will need get 87 points in the last 70 games
That would be about a .621 pace.
I still contend that Eakins is over his head and won't make it to the new year.
