Default The Big Jankowski - two goals that deserve a special thread

I know there's the Heat and Prospects forum but I could not resist ...

1) NCAA plays of the week, starts at 0:50

http://www.ncaa.com/video#!icehockey...-nanooks-perry

2) around 0:50 as well

I just can't wait how the kid translates that talent to the NHL.
As much as I like Monahan, I hope he becomes the 2nd line center after watching those beauties.

Horrible pick. Busted before leaving the stage. Feaster was drunk. /hfboards

Can't wait to see this horrible pick bust up the NHL in a Flames uniform!

Don't we call him the Dude? Or maybe his Dudeness. Or Duder. Or El Duderino, if we're not into the whole brevity thing.

I have an almost irrational desire to see Janko have success in the NHL. The way people treat that pick you would think we drafted Tim Harrison first overall.

I am just hoping he gets selected for the World Jr team and that he does so well that Pierre McGuire has to call him "a monster". Just want to see McGuire having to eat his words

Who cares what McGuire thinks. His opinions are irrelevant IMO

I actually like that he's developing slowly, it'll make his game more complete and hopefully give him the skills he neeeds to be a #1 guy. I would love him as a first line center with Monohan as a second line guy with Backlund and Colborne as our bottom 2 c's.

Up next, DEFENSEMEN!

The dude looks huge out there. Tons of speed too. It would be so awesome if this kid fullfills his potential. I know there's a lot of controversy with this pick but I had always heard that San Jose coveted this kid too and the flames were worried he wouldn't be there by the second round so they took a shot. I would love it if all his doubters had to eat their words and he becomes a star in the NHL. Wasn't Jamie benn was a 4th round pick and now he is a legit #1 centre/winger in the NHL. Lots of teams sure wish they ignored the rankings and took a chance on him. Hope that's what we have with jankowski.

Dream rebuilt forward line up if all these players fulfilled their potential:

Gaudreau-jankowski-poirier
Baertschi-Monahan-hudler
Klimchuk-backlund-hanowski
Galiardi-colborne-bouma

One of them I couldn't believe. It was a hit from behind and the player left his feet and contacted the head. To celebrate the goal!

Almost totally agree with that lineup, but I'd rather see Ferland and Knight to be a part of our future core as well - with them, we'd be much tougher to play against. Especially Ferland is IMHO a legit power forward in the making.

This struck me too. Doesn't look like the same player as last year in the clips. Looks big and strong now.

That's what I noticed about those clips as well - dominant size and dominant speed. Not to mention soft hands.

He has the tools to be an elite player, he just needs to believe in himself and push to get there.
