Tough match for Vasek. Lost the first set 6-3 and down 4-3 in the 2nd.

"Your attitude determines your altitude." The commentators are so complimentary about Vasek. He's fighting hard in the second set right now: 5-5.

The international commentators are so good. I really enjoy listening to them week in week out.
then we get grand slams and the McEnroes spew absolute garbage.

That was a pretty amazing performance from Vasek, coin flip as to who was going to win, could have gone either way.
Very impressive season, looks like he'll be a seed at the first slam next year and he's starting to look like he'll end up being a top 10 guy.
Also was glad to hear Peliwo hired a first class coach, wouldn't it be great to see a 3rd young canadian break through.

Vasek needs to capitalize when he's ahead if he wants to be a top 10 player.
Up a break in the 3rd... having the advantage on serve at 5-5. Gotta put those away.

What a gritty performance from Vasek, the announce team was gushing with praise and a nice ovation from the crowd in Basel as he left the court. The turning point to me was getting broke right after breaking Feds in the 3rd set. If he could have held serve to take a 4-1 lead in the 3rd set, that might have sealed the deal. His first serve let him down in the 3rd set, he needs to win easy points on that weapon.
Oh well, fantastic tennis from Vasek and his days of playing challenger tourneys should be in his rear view mirror.

Definately would have been nice to see him close it out... The thing is you could say the same thing about Fed, up a break 5-3 on Vasek in the second set serving for the match and Vasek broke him.
Most impressive thing about the match was beating Fed in a tiebreak, indoors in Basel.
This time next year with another season on the odometer of Fed, Vasek will paste him if he plays this well. I really think his game and mental strength has come a long way this year. Still a little over emotional sometimes, but as a spectator I love it.

Based on their head to head and his recent play i would say that Vasek has the potential to be a more complete player than raonic is. The consistent serve isn't there but the baseline striking and net play goes advantage pospisil.

del Potro wins in three sets to take the title. I'm really curious to see what becomes of Federer next year.
