When he's on, he's as good or better than Stempniak or Hudler. Haven't seen that at all this season.

I've always liked Glencross, so its puzzling why his play and effort has dropped off the way it has. He's always struggled with consistency, but he's hitting Bourque territory. There was a lot of speculation that Bourque was maybe deterred by injuries and I'm wondering if this could be the case for Glencross too. Looking at his injury history on TSN, it seems he's had quite a few knee/lower body injuries in the last few seasons. He's only missed significant time once, but I know from personal experience that little injuries add up. It's possible that he's lost a step from that and he's lost confidence in playing physical.
I'm just throwing that out there. After the '09 season, I was a huge fan of both Bourque and Glencross. It sucked seeing Bourque decline as quick as he did, and maybe I'm making excuses for Glencross. That being said, there's no denying he's been one of the worst Flames this season.

When he was on he had a bit of Gary Roberts type of a game to him. Not as stellar as Roberts i mean the guy scored 50 but the same kind of moxy to his game with a scorers touch.
I am shocked to see him in such a funk he needs to bounce back and quick or i think they will deal him later this season.

I thought Gary Roberts was more balls to the wall type player, I mean he came back and played with a neck injury. I can still remember him being crosschecked over and over because he refused to stop standing in front of the opposition net. He did this even after his surgery. Not sure Glencross is close to "Gary Roberts" tough. Gary Roberts never sulked, he was a few notices more competitive in every way.

And yet again another bad game for Glencross. I could be mistaken but i haven't seen him take a meaningful wrist shot this season.
Most of his past goals have been wrist shots or tips. Just taking half hearted slap shots occasionally that have little behind it. His back checking has been crap too.

That rings pretty hollow when the only man that can make that decision hasn't shown that he's even entertaining moving Glencross off his line let alone bench him, sit him in the pressbox, or ship him out of town.
He hasn't been great but honestly to see fans ripping on the guy like this only 10 games into the season is IMO pretty classless and shameful.

I don't believe it's either classless or shameful. When people were doing it a game or two in, yeah, sure. But it's 10 games in, the season is over 10% in the books and Glencross hasn't even shown a GLIMMER of the player everyone values him as. He's been so far below average in every single game, it's starting to get ridiculous.
How long until it's ok to talk about how frustrating his slump is? 15 games? 20? 40?
It's 10 games in. It took 9 for management to make a decision on whether Monahan is ready to play in the NHL, so why should it take more than 10 for fans to decide that Glencross is playing a heartless, lazy game?
Plenty of sample size at this point, the guy needs to kick it in the next 5 games, or he'll have a hard time ever recovering in the fans eyes.

Glencross has the worst +/- on the team.... a -6. Even Butler is only a -2.

There must be something else going on like an injury. He really doesn't look himself but Hartley continues to rely on him.

For everyone suggesting sitting Glencross for a game or limit his ice time, you should remember that so far Glencross was consistently inconsistent. Glencross currently still has lots of value based on his previous seasons, but in the NHL its more a "what have you done for me lately?" mentality. Glencross is currently wearing a bullet proof vest in the form of a NMC, so if you don't like the player, or his play you have only two options: Trade him with his consent, or make him a healthy scratch. Now if the coaching stuff/management decides on the later, it will only lower his value in a potential trade.
Doesn't everyone remember how during pre-season/summer everyone was saying he has one of the best value contracts in the league, and therefore Glencross is worth a great deal for any team as long as he is on his game. Why are you all so eager to either sell low, or lower his value even further then?
We should at least wait until the trade deadline before making any obvious/public moves regarding Glencross. Does anyone really think that the coaching stuff doesn't discuss Glencross' play with Glencross? Just because the average fan has noticed something wrong doesn't mean the coaching stuff didn't! Glencross might be having a bit of a harder time with this year's system. His role is slightly changed, so did the quality of opposition, the A is an added weight on his shoulders.
I am trying not to make excuses for Glencross, and I have seen lazy play from him more often than any other player this season, I just know(believe) that as soon as things will start going his way his play in all three zones will improve. After all didn't we as fans get into this season with the promise to be patient, lets not break it after the first 10 games.

I don't think anyone really wants Glencross benched, or off the team, people are just concerned. Glencross for the most part has been a fan favorite and this season we all were excited to see him stepping up with an "A" on his shirt. The team has been off to such a great start and all of the sudden we see Glencross making some questionable plays, coasting and playing very uninspired. Of course as fans we want to know why, especially because we see the team winning and playing as a "team". As one poster put it maybe he is hurt, but if he is maybe they should put a young guy in who has something to prove in his place. As for Glencross value going down, I still think whether he plays well right now or not most teams would still pay premium for his services. Personally I think it sends the wrong message to the team to allow certain players to dictate the game; Isn't that the same type of organizational cancer Feaster was talking about?

I don't think people necessarily want him gone but if he's going to stay they want the old version back. The guy that could hit, steal pucks and also generate great scoring chances. If that guy can't come back you might as will trade him while his value is high. As sad as that would be.
