I said it at the time and I'll say it again, I really wish Kessel has broken Scott's leg. Kessel's suspension should be overturned and he should be given the Lady Byng.

the fact that it happened to Boston too, probably thought of as one of the biggest and meanest teams in the league should also help quiet the people who think having toughness means your stars won't get touched

Scott's suspension can't be long enough

No delay in planning a hearing for that one...

BUF's John Scott has an in-person hearing with NHL for hit to the head on BOS's Loui Eriksson though date and time has yet to be set.
Clearly targeted the head with his elbow. This should be a long one.

These goons need to be eradicated from the league.

if they finish last there is a 25% chance they pick first

Stuff like this makes me really appreciate Brian McGrattan. He's a feared and respected fighter around the league, but he doesn't resort to crap like that. He can take a regular shift and be physical without crossing that line. Scott is only in the league to fight and hurt people. Unfortunately, he's the biggest guy in the league so it's not like he really answers to other enforcers for his antics, because he overpowers just about everybody. He really needs to be out of the league because he contributes nothing positive to the game of hockey.

the fact that he always has slow starts doesn't excuse the slow starts...guy is still making over 5 million dollars.

His slow starts cost the Flames playoff appearances and playoff seeding, it remains to be seen if he will work out in Boston

That's not the argument - no one ever said 'won't' (or at least they shouldn't have)

The argument isn't that tough guys ensure that stars never get gooned, it is that they provide a deterrent against stars getting gooned (i.e. it should happen less).

Just because it happens doesn't mean it wouldn't happen more without the deterrent.

Note: not defending the argument, just pointing out your fallacy

Also, I hope he gets a lengthy suspension

Where in my post did I give any excuse for the slow starts?

Odd reply.

Iginla looked awesome last night. His passes on the powerplay were outstanding. Finishing checks, backchecking, skating. It was the Iginla of old out there.

While I do think fighting belongs in the game, goon players like Scott do not. That was a seriously dirty hit, hopefully he gets a very long suspension. Is Loui injured?

he didn't fly with the team back to Boston for their game tonight, but instead stayed back in Buffalo for ongoing concussion tests. He could be out for while ... tests will show
