Whamo bamo thank you ramo!
Can't believe we won that game. LA looked dangerous when they weren't on the pk.
But big congrats to ramo serving up the win!!

Backlund was an absolute beast on the forecheck tonight. He won't be the high scoring center he was pegged when drafted but he is a very solid 2 way forward.
Ramo was excellent. I just saw the replay of the Carter goal and that was just bad luck. I thought Richards got a piece of it but it was Wideman's stick. Anyways, Ramo has great rebound control and seems very relaxed, not letting a goal agAinsr change his focus.
I think the city will erupt in riots if Monohan goes back to Ottawa. There is absolutely no way sending him back will help his development more than staying with the Flames. I don't even want him loaned for the WJC's at this point.
Hudler has been Feaster's best acquisition. High skilled, and doesn't shy away from contact like many Europeans. Great leadership, especially by "making" Monohan bunk at his house. Loving this guy!!
Cammalleri is a great leader as well. Doesn't take a shift off, and was very physical tonight despite coming off injury.
Hartley has been a godsend. The Kings are a huge, physical team but we didn't shy away at all tonight. He has everyone buying into his system (kudos to Feaster for finding players with the qualities needed for Hartley's system) and this team never lets up. Especially love guys like Backlund, Stempniak and Hudler mixing it up to stick up for teammates. This is the definition of a TEAM. Something I haven't seen in years. I love the "us against the world" mentality.
We may not have any all-stars but this is the most entertaining team I've seen (win or lose) in a decade. Never been more proud to be a Flames fan. (I was too little during the cup years to appreciate what was going on).

And yes I did watch the game just like every other game. Pretty much everything else I posted in my initial post is what everyone that watched would agree too as well.
It's my opinion and I also don't think Backlund is a very good skater. Flames win and I'm happy. You can tell it's a real team effort.

Really nothing to complain about in this game. Even Butler didn't make any noticeable mistakes. Ramo was excellent, I hope he can do more of the same going forwards.

Sounds like I missed an awesome game. I saw the highlights on NHL.com. Ramo seems like he was pretty solid tonight. Great to see Cammalleri score a very Cammalleri like goal so soon after coming back from injury, those one timers are is his bread and butter.
And Monahan just parks his butt in front of the net, and scores lots of goals, pretty reliable approach.
Wish I could have caught this game!
The Pacific Division is so good right now.

Hakan Loob emailing in to Overtime about the Flames.
Still hope he ends up as team president someday.

I think Backlund is a lot stronger on his skates than previous seasons, and a very underrated skater all in all.

Just thought I would throw this in there: Stempniak is in beast mode too. The "smallish" winger had 5 hits tonight.
Also, Kris Russell with a surprising 3 hits to go along with 4 blocked shots. Kid is really surprising me.
You know who didn't hit anyone tonight? Curtis Glencross.
Notable move to have Cammy take a lot of draws tonight, especially defensive zone. He responded with a 78% winning percentage. All other centers were around 33%.

Job O'Hopper, you are precious. You're like a Canuck fan mated with an oiler fan, and they crapped out you!

Stempniak can be extremely streaky, but my god the guy shows up and works his tail off each and every night. The same cannot be said for Glencross however...
I also agree with your assessment of Russell.

I was actually going to post how fast Backlund looks out there, and how fast he comes back to break-up plays. I thought he stood out tonight in a great way - catch his dive to get his stick in the way of the late man (I think it was Voynov)? He is an extremely fast forechecker and backchecks like a demon now. His offence is not happening, but he pushes the play every time he is on the ice.
I don't know how we can see the same player and come out with exactly opposite thoughts. I think he is a fantastic skater, and I think that (next to his hockey sense) it is his greatest asset.

This caller right now is one of those fans.
Very curious about whether Crosby will ever be a free agent because Pittsburgh is slipping right now and probably wants out...
