Same with Wideman and Gioradano on D. Good game by Brodie as well. A lot of minutes though for Wideman and Gio.

Sean Monahan again, good goal, shows he's not scared to go to the dirty areas and gets rewarded. Sven Baertschi was good as well, Stempniak another good game. Even Brian McGrattan who only played 2:58, he did something unlike Backlund and Glencross. These two guys need to pick up their game or they will be moved.

Can't forget Kari Ramo, pretty solid game again tonight.

Flames are a well coached team and you can tell coach Hartley won't put up with passengers.

On to Phoenix.
Serious??? Did you watch the game? Backlund was all over the ice, hitting, forechecking and he was relentless. How you define doing something by a player? Glencross did not have a bad game...he did not score a goal or an assist but the winning goal, he went in front of the net and LA defenseman tried to contain him and he distracted Quick.

I'm happy the Flames won but I'm not going to sugarcoat players' performance. Just calling it like I see it and like I said, stats don't lie. Backlund had 1 shot on net tonight. Remember,he's a center.

Think of who you notice out there, who makes plays, who makes it exciting?

Someone might have mentioned this already, but 21:11 in ice time for Monahan.

I saw Backlund bringing the intangibles that help teams win. Smart plays, hard work, and good vision. He did a lot of things that may not end up on the score sheet, but definitely make the team better.

That was ridiculously intense. What a first game for me to go to.

The first period I was pretty shocked by how loud it was and what it's like to be at an indoor stadium. Some major things I noticed when I was able to focus on the game:

Flames were getting in lanes all night, I don't know the blocked shots count but for the most part they were keeping so many shots to the outside, it was super impressive.

I still have no idea what the penalty was for on wideman...

Really noticed stempniak getting in peoples faces which was a bit of a surprise for me

Kings fans were pretty nice to me, on the way out I got heckled a bit but it didn't seem serious, all in all, good time.

Final note that now every time I Have seen the flames live they have won.. I'm going to grab tickets to the next game now

Remember kids, Monahan has 600% more goals than Anze Kopitar's 0 goals. Kerr is not only a superb broadcaster, he is excellent at math.

Who the heck cares how many shots he's got? So, you are basing players performance on the number of shots? Wow.. I don't like to argue with anyone here but your reasoning on Backlund is just plain stupid. The guy is turning into a better two-way center.

You really didn't watch the game, did you? You were playing GTA5 in your parents basement, saw the game was over, googled the game stats, and came on here to drop your profound insight.

I thought the 600% comment was hilariously daffy.

Also, I forgot to mention Stempniak played just an amazing game. When he was tripped and still dished the pass. He was playing hard tonight.

What a great game! Glad to see to see the flames rewarded for all their hard work so far in this road trip. Hopefully Mcgrattan was taking note of carcillo for the next time we play the kings. I imagine he was told by Hartley again to not fight and it's better to get the win... Carcillo will answer to mcgrattan next time for what he did to ramo and hudler. Way to go flames!

He scored against the Sharks and the Flames still lost that game. Were you happy with his play then?

He's been solid in both ends of the ice from what I've seen this year. Not really sure I follow your logic that he's hurting the team with his play.

You must of been watching the game on NHL Gametracker if you think based on Backlunds 1 shot he didn't have a good game. Ridiculous how some people assess performance.

Yup. Backs is evolving into an elite 3rd line C/decent 2nd line C. I think he's going to be an important piece for this team moving forward.

Kerr is actually getting worse as he gets more experience.

All I'm saying is the Flames under Coach Harley are a different team, an offensive team and the way hockey should be played.
