What a BS call. Pushing your opponent warrants an unsportsmanlike penalty? Aww muffin, did the Jwets kwicker mwiss his field goal?

It's not for pushing the opponent. You can't push your own player down the field.

The defense that carries the otherwise horrible Bears gives up 500 yards and 45 points as the Bears lose a close game.

I've never seen it called before but they said this was the 1st year that rule has been in play. Strange way to end the game.
Miami's season is on the line next week @ New England. If Miami loses that game, their season is over.

it looked like he was trying to get to another gap and ended up getting stuck behind his own player, a complete homer call... no way call like that should determine a game..

"Pushing" was certainly not blatant on any replay I saw or that any of the commentators saw. The player (a Pats rookie) did a stunt and basically ended up running into the backside of his teammate.
I can safely say that I don't watch a lot of FG block attempts, but I can also safely say that players blocking don't all stay in their lanes and inadvertant contact with teammates from behind likely happens a lot along the line.

Still a brutal call, that crap probably happens in a lot of plays and goes uncalled and to do that in overtime?

So sick of being a dolphin fan. Tannerhill is overrated and a turn over machine.
Why they decided to pass the ball rather than run there at the end cost them the game is beyond me. So annoyed.

My response there was to the poster thinking it was for pushing the opponent and not your own player. I don't know if it was the right call or not. Pretty chintzy way to end a game but at the same time if it's a rule, it's a rule. I probably would have let it go on a game ending play.
Good news for Denver/KC though. Everyone else has at least 2 losses in the AFC and they have 0.

You mean that D/ST that scored yet another TD for them today?
Agreed. Everyone scores big against the Skins.
Weird how the Bears got better after Cutler left though. Never saw that coming.

The Chiefs are a solid team. They made that drive look easy. Charles is such a great back. 7-0 Chiefs over the Texans.

I cannot stand these GB throwback jersies....just fugly.
I understand why the line in this game was 10 after seeing Weeden throw maybe the worst pass ever thrown though.
GB will be alone in 1st in the division after today if they win...all is right with the world.

Yeah, that 4 minutes of offensive possession was very telling in Cutler's day.
It couldn't be that Forte got 3 TD's after they were forced to run the ball after Cutler went down hurt.
I also dont understand what special teams has to do with the defense...? I'm not speaking in terms of fantasy points, so the special teams' performance really has no bearing on the play of the defense

Keenum gets his first NFL TD pass! 10-7 Texans. Good game so far.

Well then let me help you.
Total points - points cored on D/ST = real PPG for an offense.
In the Bears case before todays game...
they had 5 D/ST IIRC...so you take those off from the PPG total that was attributed to the offense and all of a sudden the offense is only putting up PPG in the area of 19th best in the NFL...not 3rd overall.
My whole and entire point is and was...without the scoring they get from their D (never claimed the d was any good in fact said before the season they would be awful) and ST scoring sprinkled in...the Bears simply wouldnt be at wins and probably at 1 win...which may be an exaggeration but the point remains.

16 Offensive touchdowns from the Bears is on par with other teams such as:
Detroit
Philadelphia
New Orleans
San Francisco
Indianapolis
|
As mentioned earlier, but go ahead and keep trying to dig up more stats. The point remains. 16 Offensive touchdowns (prior to this game, that is) and Cutler has the Bears tied for 4th in passing touchdowns as well.
Thanks for the.... er... "help?"
