Hopefully it doesn't mean anyone is even hurt/suspended/whatever. I hope to see guys playing poorly like Jackman and Butler sat in favour of guys playing well from the AHL.

Could be injury, could be preparation for Monahan being returned to junior, could be recognition that Colbourne hasn't worked out as well as hoped... We'll see...

Hopefully this spells the end of Tim Jackman's run with the Flames. The bone-headed penalties the last 2 games have got to have been the last straw.

Smith sent to Abbotsford, so now we have 2 up, 2 down, so it all works out numbers wise. No one getting traded, suspended, etc.

Roman Horak is not a Jackman replacement, though I suppose this could be Horak taking Bouma's place on the Backlund line, and Bouma going down to the 4th line..

I would hope to see Jackman or McGrattan sit against LA. Neither are really doing the job. I think SOB should sit; he deserves to be scratched as much or more than Butler. I like what Galiardi brings & he should get some more ice time.
 Baertschi Monahan Hudler
 Galiardi Backlund Stempniak
 Glencross Colborne Horak
 Bouma Street McGrattan

 Giordano Brodie
 Russell Wideman
 Butler Breen

You rebutted your own rebuttal. Obviously I'm not suggesting Horak is coming up to play the same role.

I would be happy if Jackman never played another game for the Flames. Time to turn that page.

Seems like Colborne's been getting better and better, or at least more ice time so probably not that.

Too soon to be putting Monahan's line against elite first line guys. Let them continue to succeed playing other teams 2nd and 3rd lines for now.
Also, based on interviews, McGrattan has wanted to fight but been told not to in certain instances by Hartley. I think he is doing his job just fine which does not involve simply fighting.

My ideal situation:
Jackman sent down (will clear easy)
SOB & Butler sent down (would they clear?)
Glencross in the press box

Colborne needs to be sent down and learn to use his size better (face offs and positioning). He has the potential but isn't using it. Do you think he gets claimed if sent to Abby?

Good, think he's right in the cusp of being a full time NHL'er, if not there already. Great hockey sense IMO.
And I like it when he's here and Erixon's in the AHL

So you want to take every one out that has any size....against one of the biggest teams in hockey? |
