Braves were good beat Cards on their own and their fans are band wagoners not scumbags. Can't remember the bullpen for Braves but seems like Rocker-Era so that could be right.
You are 100% right about everything you said about the Giants.

They had the best record in the NL not sure this is an underdog run at all.
Hope the Cardinals can win because seeing the scumbag Red Sox and the worst fans in baseball win would make losing the WS about 100 times worse. But the Cards have had a recent history of losing to teams they should beat.

Sucks for the Tigers, the series was winnable if the bullpen could hold a lead. Fielder was a huge disappointment and Cabrera's injury really didn't help.

Jim Leyland has decided to step down as Detroit's manager, he will apparently remain in the organization in another capacity.

This was the match up that I wanted the least when the playoffs started but now that it has happened I hope the Cardinals win, I hate the Red Sox.
Plus who would have thought when Pujols left the Cardinals that the Cards would go to 7 games in the NL Pennant the first season after he left, and the make it to the World Series the next season.
Hopefully they win for that reason alone because I hate when beloved franchise players leave a team over $.

Why is it irrational?
Plenty of people complain about Red Sox fans even their own homer Simmons talks about the annoying "pink hat" fans that have popped up since 04.

I hope cards sweep in 4! I know this isn't realistic and not that much fun for the baseball loving population but I really don't want the sox to win and they better not hit another freaking gran slam in this next series!

Just seems a bit much for a team that your team rarely faces off against. I guess if the Cards won in 04 I might hate them but Sox fans (the real ones) are fantastic. I was able to go to game 2 and the atmosphere was unreal, not sure why you hate the fans so much...

I agree with Moon on this one. His hate isn't irrational. My hatred for the Cards is FAR more irrational than his for the BoSox.
I hate the Cards as they are a well run organization (in the weakest division in the NL) that play big games well consistently.
The media seems to always pick the other team regardless if record, successes, etc. It seemed that everyone thought the Braves would beat the Cardinals. Then the Dodgers were all but given the NLCS before the series started, and now the Bearded Ones are set to get the trophy caught in their chin hairs. Hence my Cinderella Runs comment.
Additionally, I'm still upset over their last World Series victory. But, that's where rivalry and team hate comes from. It's one part jealousy, one part injustice that the Cardinals win when they should and upset when they shouldn't. I wish I cheered for a team like that.

How in the hell does Tim Lincecum snag a 2 year $35 million deal from the Giants? Max Scherzer and Clayton Kershaw have gotta be laughing their asses off right now at how much money is about to be thrown at them.

Doesn't make much sense to me. He seems washed-up. I thought they should let him go, and bring in two other starters. Trading Wheeler for Beltran was a bad move.
Giants' brain trust bets Lincecum will evolve
http://www.sfgate.com/giants/shea/ar...ve-4918322.php
They were convinced Tim Lincecum will return to real-deal status, that his fastball, despite dipping to the low 90s, will be effective enough, accompanied by his usual assortment of sliders, changeups and curves, to upgrade his performance in 2014 and 2015 over 2012 and 2013.
The Giants were so convinced of this that they agreed on a $35 million contract over two years (pending a physical) to keep Lincecum in the rotation along with Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner and two pitchers to be named.
One won't be Barry Zito. One might not be Ryan Vogelsong. Or Chad Gaudin or Yusmeiro Petit.
So the Giants were working from a position of desperation to some extent. Desperate to fill rotation spots, desperate to benefit if/when Lincecum returns to elite form, desperate to keep their two-time Cy Young Award winner from the Dodgers.
Don't discount the Dodger angle. After losing the National League Championship Series with Brian Wilson as their setup man, the Dodgers could have targeted another colorful Giants pitcher, among a cast of thousands, in their pay-at-all-costs bid to win it all.
It's the Dodgers' price of doing business, just like the Giants' price of doing business was to throw $35 million at Lincecum despite his 29 losses the past two seasons. Fact is, Lincecum's stats show he's on the road to recovery, considering his 2013 ERA and WHIP dropped, along with his walks-to-inning ratio. Let's not forget the 148-pitch no-hitter.
The Giants wouldn't have cut this deal if the decision-makers weren't convinced Lincecum will deliver.
Some fans knock the deal because the Giants overpaid, but these are the facts: The list of free-agent pitchers is thin. Nobody at Triple-A Fresno is ready for the rotation. Lincecum doesn't get hurt. He was willing to take a short-term deal. The Dodgers were a phone call away. His 2013 record was worse than it could have been because of support issues on multiple levels. He actually has an upside.
