Huh... Ramo has had how much play time, how May shots did he face tonight. You might find fault in one of the goals tonight but for the most part he did a very good job . He faced a pentalty shot, clean break and the Penalty kills, remember our rebuild includes the goal position

Sit Glencross. He would probably be worse against LA anyway. That drop pass inside the Sharks blue line..just wow. Reminds me of a former captain in his final years with the team.

Man up Hartley, and set an example. You preach and want to build a family. Now be a good god father and do what is right here. And do it now.

We're basically screwed when Giordano takes a penalty. And if he ever goes down for even a few games we're drafting Eckblad/Reinhart.

Entertaining game to watch and it's great to see the effort this team gives every night. Honestly, I thought the penalty trouble was mostly the Flames own doing. The only calls I had problems with were the penalty shot, which I thought should have only been a hooking minor and the boarding call near the end of the game, but Butler's hit from behind right afterward should have been called anyway. There were some really frustrating penalties - particularly Jackman's hit to the head and slashing on Backlund I thought were really stupid mistakes.

I can't say enough about Monahan. I made an effort to watch him individually when he was on the ice and his positioning and awareness are outstanding.

Baertschi is looking better and more physical as the season goes on. His biggest problem before was that he was being easily pushed off the puck and it seems like he has made some huge improvements to his game in that regard.

Brodie had a rare off night. Blew his coverage a few times and missed the net on two great scoring chances.

Even though Ramo let five past him, I thought he was solid and made a few saves early on to keep the Flames in it. Not spectacular, but I can't blame him on most of the goals much like the first game he played.

Galiardi looked great out there. Lots of energy, made smart plays and hustled to the puck all night.

Overall, a pretty good game by the Flames. I thought the difference in skill between the two teams was the most apparent it has been all year so far, but it's nice to be able to sit back and appreciate the positives from losses this season as I don't expect us to be a playoff team.

The PK looked awful, rarely got the puck out and repeatedly left guys open for the backdoor pass.

Really liked the push back and continued effort in the third. It would have been really easy to fold and mail it in. Even until the empty net goal, the team was still going. Nice to see.

Brodie had a rough game but he'll bounce back.

Got to love Backlund's game so far this year.

And what more can be said about the Sven-Sean combination...
I agree with the glencross statement. sit him out when david jones and Cammilari are back

for a guy that bounced around alot he seems to think he's king(not based of just this year I have always thought so )

It seems like Giordano is the only reliable defenceman in the defensive zone. If he takes a penalty chances are it will result in a PP goal because Brodie/Butler will be on the ice.

Regarding Wideman, I think he's starting to look a little tired. I'm thrilled he's committed to a bigger role with the organization and that the staff is looking to him - but he's not a 30 minute a game defenceman. Few are.

If we only had more talent and experience 4-6, we wouldn't see him getting leaned on so much.

Yes and I woud not disagree put Hanowski is on his way in the AHL to posting similiar numbers as Street had but .. He is not flying ever which way whn he takess a hit . Hanoskis size is better . same skill set but no on his A** every shift.

I didn't mean it in regards to Gio, I meant it in regards to how you felt our luck would result in us getting a decent draft pick in the lotto.
Yea especially withthat combo
Brodie - needs more experience
Butler- well on most nights he's just use less

really? Which of those goals would have kipper stopped?
I thought Ramo was really only absent for the sixth

I did not see a single rebound to the slot.

Last positives for the night:

We got 3 goals past a Vezina finalist on only 19 shots. Niemi had a 1.70 GAA and a .930 save percentage before tonight.

Backlund slapped around Couture in the faceoff dot.
