Flying in this game (as with any GTA game) SUCKS. Worst part of the experience BY FAR. And I just have to say, if you have no trouble with the flying, are scoring silvers and golds without any trouble in the Flying School section of the game, get yourself tested for mutations in the human gene code. You are X-Men, and need to be in a special school of such.
Using a helicopter makes me want to murder an infant. Awful controls.

Do the flight school a second time and things won't be as difficult.
Flying time helps your flying skill.
I'm one of those mutants though, so, I dunno.

The helicopters I can sort of agree with, but what exactly is so bad about flying planes? I got gold on every plane challenge (the only one that gave me trouble was the emergency bridge landing), but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. The planes handle exactly the way one would expect using a console controller, unlike the helicopters with have such a nasty wobble to them for seemingly no reason

The bridge landing is the one flying school mission that gives me trouble. Otherwise, I'm OK (as in not terrible) with planes. The helicopters are beyond me. No idea what they were thinking with the controls. Unplayable for casual users, IMO. Hope it doesn't play into the storyline too much. I'm about halfway, but if helicopters play too much into the final few missions chances are good I'll just neglect finishing the game (ala Saints Row 2).
I know some of you have absolutely no issue with flying in any aspect. And again, you folks should undergo genetic screening.

Maybe you should undergo genetic screening, I think you might be the anomaly here.

Ya I honestly don't find the helicopters controls that bad. The missions that require them are not bad either. Should not let that stop you from finishing this awesome game.

Thanks for the tip. I just started online and have only been robbing stores on my way to a whopping 12k bankroll. If I rob to many in a row the wanted level raises and i get arrested and lose what I just stole. Now I will start stealing cars and selling them. Anyone know what cars they want?

Yeah I do that but when you rob a guy of 1800 bucks and it puts 4 stars on you. It's hard to find time to invest. Hell sometimes I'm shot and killed while running out of the store.

Side note: In the story mode, can you sell the random cars you steal?
Ya know, like the game is called Grand Theft Auto...

Wow, they really make driving a tank as un-fun as possible. Go on a bit of a rampage and the cops just kamikaze you, it only takes a few cards exploding near your "tank" to finish you off

They made the camera angle the same as when you drive a semi,so when you go under a bridge you cant see anything but your cannon....That's very annoying
