So the word going around is that there will be no new hardware or 4.4 released/introduced for tomorrow's Google event. The event will be mainly focusing on changes to Google Play.
Kind of disappointing

Once the Nexus 5 gets announced and assuming I can lock one up when it's on the play store... when can I expect it to arrive on my door step? I'm about to sell my 4S today in hopes I don't have to wait to long for the Nexus 5.
I hope I don't regret selling my 4S for the Nexus 5. I'm worried about the camera and how one crack renders the screen useless (at least that's how it was on the Nexus 4).

That's a dangerous waiting game you could play. Nexus 5 hasn't even been announced yet and Google hasn't shown much in the way of online sales savvy yet.

I know... but if Google accidentally had Nexus 5 up on the Google Play store for a bit - it must be getting very close to release. I'm just worried it will take a month before they ship.
And I've found a buyer that will pay $325 for the 4S... I don't know how much longer the phone will hold that value.

Which is quite possible.
These things tend to have limited stock at launch and unless you are able to order ASAP when they go up it can usually be 3-4 weeks.
Plus there is no guarantee that we get them right away in Canada.

You should go read this thread around the time the Nexus 4 was released. It took people a long time to get their devices. I bought mine super late, but did a lot of reading in this thread prior to purchase.

Yeah, if I was in your position I'd hold onto the 4s and go from there. Even if you end up selling it for less, it's still worth it to actually have a phone for this time.

Someone on the Ki-jij is willing to grab my 16Gb 4S for $350!
That may be too sweet to resist, and I'll try to use someones spare phone in the mean time...

Can anyone suggest why I should wait for a Nexus 5 over buying an LG G2 right now? I love the screen size and form factor of the G2, and I'm not concerned about having a stock Google phone for updates as I'll be rooted and running a custom rom anyway. The price is a big factor, but so is actually being able to buy the phone. I saw how hard it was to buy a Nexus 4 after launch, and don't feel like checking the Google store everyday for 1 or 2 months waiting for stock when I could go buy a G2 tomorrow
Decisions...

Google won't have the same stock issues, this time around, with the Nexus 5.

Just sold my S3, and I will be deciding between this and the Nexus 5. I am hoping the OIS rumor is true for the Nexus 5.

Wow that's kind of crazy. I will have a couple of 32gb 4's collecting dust are they worth much on the market? I think they are locked though. Is Rogers supposed to unlock them for free once the plan is expired?

I sold my S3 for $320. I did include the official extended battery kit though, and most people who emailed me were looking to buy just the phone for around $300.
Just looked at my original post, what I meant to say was that I am deciding between the Note 3 and the Nexus 5.
