Slow start and some stupid mistakes. Otherwise a really entertaining hockey game.

Guys have had their legs broken with shots and they dont blow it...especially there were 4 seconds left in a 3-2 game
|
A broken leg is a broken leg, it sucks but you sit, it heals, you'll be back. A puck to the neck and head is easily worse, you don't mess with injuries in that area. A guy with a broken leg will be in some pain while he waits but a guy with a head or neck injury needs to see someone as soon as possible.
Again, zero issue with the play being called to a stop at that point.

The one thing I noticed about both Backlund and Baertschi is that despite being undersized usually, they know when to time their body contact on the forecheck in order to isolate the defending player and separate them from the puck.
Really impressive.

1. Face offs2. Shoot from the point more
3. ##### butler
4. Terrible play by jackman
5. Sven and Backs played well
6. What is up with Glencross? If he keeps it up this whole road trip, I ship him
7. Monahan had the right amount of shifts. Hartley knows what he's doing

Liked the effort from the team tonight. I can take a loss. What I can't take is Jackman and Butler in a Flames jersey. GOD AWFUL are those two plugs. That was a stupid selfish penalty to take. If he plays next game I will question Hartley big time!
Keep working hard boys!

Forget Butler and Jackman, Brodie played an absolute brutal game- my god.

Statistically, our goaltending has been as bad as the Oilers. We needed one more save tonight.

Another very strong effort against a very good team. Strong pushback gave them a chance to get points.
Character galore.

Easily. As bad as the Butler giveaway was, it was also a fluke that the guy picked it out of the air and kept it in.
Brodie's giveaway was giftwrapped and ended up being the difference to a team that the Flames outplayed and outchanced for over half the game. Tough to let those ones slip away.

Lots of good performances by a lot of players today.
Good game for a developing team.
The SOB and Butler pairing should not exist as a thing.

Hopefully Smith gets a chance to break into the lineup. Seems like every time Butler has a brain fart its in the back of the net in about 2 seconds.
Colborne looked good, he should start earning some more ice time. Sven had lots of jump tonight.
Jackman, ugh. That might be about it for you my friend. Too many good options on the farm to keep you in the lineup.

But how do you respond to rules are rules..... the rule says it was not to be blown.
Does the rule need to be changed? Most likely but not mid game!

Glencross -3 fine
1st goal Stemp at fault
2nd goal Butler at fault
3rd goal Brodie at fault
come on guys use your heads, criticize his effort sure but -3 is meaningless none of those had anything to do with the guy

agree - tough break cause the Flames would have had control and maybe one last good chance but you have to blow that down

Entertaining game tonight. Colbolne played pretty well.
Butler, Jackman... Wtf...
Surely someone on the farm plays defense better than Butler.

I thought that might be the reason, but if so, that strategy failed miserably. Street lost both of those last two (absolutely key) face-offs cleanly.
