I never understood this sentiment, and i have read it a lot through the years.

What difference does it make that he was traded there? I mean, if Iginla was to win a cup with the Bruins this season...is it tainted as well? Or is it different because he signed as a UFA? I guess I am missing something in the whole "he was dealt to a powerhouse so it doesnt mean as much" thing. Good teams make deals at the deadline every year and those that go on to win seem to embrace their most recent additions.

Bourque played that whole season in Colorado, and quite well i might add, before being a huge part of a tremendous playoff team.

That being said, no it was no where close to the greatest moment in SC history when RB raised the cup...like you said it was pretty cool but so many other moments are superior.

I think the league is waiting on Boyle's condition. I could see a huge suspension.
20 games maybe? I would like to see a season long suspension without having to see someone get killed first.

Lapierre is one my most disliked players. This play sums his game up to me. Dirty hit then skates up the ice with his hands up like "I didn't do anything" while chaos erupts around him...manages to steer clear of any form of altercation.

#### disturber for sure and I hate that this type of player exists in the game.

@LavoieRenaud: In person hearing for Maxim Lapierre. Hearing will happen in NY. Don't know when yet. He has the option to refuse and do it on the phone.

I hope theythrow the book at Lapierre. I'm just happy he's not on the nucks and we don't have to see him as much. He's another player I would like to see get a big suspension

how about the Burns hit on Morrow? Suspension worthy?

Kaleta got 5 games for a similar hit on Richards; repeat offender increases the duration, perhaps

With the way Shanny is handing out bans on head shots lately, I would hope this would be looked at as well.

However being it's Klesla (again) and they didn't on the Nolan hit, I'm doubting anything comes of this.

I'm just talking about how I saw it and felt about it at the time. I really liked Bourque as a player, but to see him wear an Avs jersey and raise the cup seemed so ..............awkward to me. It just didn't fit.

He had a fantastic career and won a cup........good for him. I'm not saying it should mean less to him or his teammates or even their fans. I'm just saying as a neutral fan watching the whole thing unfold it just didn't seem as great as it would have if he had won it in Boston.

I understand that a lot of players and vets get traded every year and some go on to win the cup, but it's different to me when you're talking about iconic players who you identify with a certain team over their careers. If Iggy wins it this year, it will feel strange. If Alfredsson wins it with Detroit this year, it will be strange. When Bourque won it with the Avs, it felt really, really strange.

Just me, and my 2 cents.

They don't seem that similar at all. Richards had his back to Kaleta the whole time and Kaleta crosschecked him into the boards. It was an intentionally dirty play. Burns hit on Morrow seemed like bad timing on Burns part. I wish that clip would show the hit from a different angle in its entirety.

Burns on Morrow hit was also looked at. It was viewed that Morrow threw a reverse hit into Burns, and Burns won the physical battle.

Why should that be looked at? Klesla was crouched over and had his head down. Ryan's elbow hit him just above the crest on his jersey. There's nowhere else Ryan could have hit him. It's pretty much a textbook hit.

I can see that. He tries to throw his body back towards Burns, but doesn't have his feet set right to absorb it. Plus Burns is quite a bit bigger than Morrow.

Pretty much sums up how I felt.

It just felt a bit forced.

Good on him - but it will never be a big Stanley Cup moment for me.

Because the league just suspended Edler 3 games for the same thing.
