^^That's exactly what I thought, that Rick was walking into a cannibal ambush. Especially when she was talking about not being able to come back from the things you've done.
I had visions of The Road

Found this interesting little quote in an online article regarding Patrick
Spoiler!
“It’s not even the walkers, it’s not even other people … it’s a whole new threat,” Maggie’s Lauren Cohan teased E! Online of the problems that the group will encounter this season. And according to series creator Robert Kirkman, this new threat “could be more deadly than the other two combined.”

Why did they twice zoom in on that one specific zombie at the fence? At first I thought it was a character we were supposed to know but I didn't recognize him at all. It seemed as though they were focusing on his eyes, which looked similar to the kid who turned at the end.
He had dried blood that came out of his eyes like Patrick. Can't recall if he had any other injury that would explain his death but it was likely a sign that he had died from the same disease that Patrick did.
Here's also a bit of an interesting picture
Spoiler!
That gnome candle's wax seems a bit too much like his eyes and ears are bleeding to be a coincidence.
Wow, nothing like a mock trailer to illuminate just how much Shane rubs his bloody head.
What are we looking at this season, as far as the "threat" is concerned? The hints we've seen thus far definitely seem to point to some sort of livestock/animal infection. The disease has perhaps mutated and spread to the animal kingdom, so cue the rabid zombie grizzly bears, deer, boars, walker mosquitoes, etc.
I'm kind of hoping Carl's lice turn and gradually eat his irritating little head off, before we have to listen to a full season of mid-puberty voice.

I'm thinking it's something along the lines of Swine Flu. The symptoms, not including bleeding eyes, looked flu-like on the show. Possibly a mutation of the desease in the animals like Mad Cow since they are all eating dead tissue from Walkers with no humans to feed them anymore.
They haven't really addressed the issue of weakened immune systems in the show. Maybe Milton was working on something, but interesting thing would be how sick would someone have to be before the virus took over, or even partially took over. I thought Irish lady in the woods was going to be it.
I think they will eventually have to toy with it. How an otherwise non-lethal bite can turn you almost instantly, but being sick and already having the virus live inside you does nothing should be addressed..

Maybe it is a brain activity thing, once you are dead you lack brain activity and turn. Being really really sick would still allow you to have brain activity, even on a very minor basis.
Course that doesn't help explain the killing them through damage to he brain........
