He has good abilities as a tough guy. Can play a regular shift. One of the top fighter in the league although his defense while fighting is not the greatest. He will be fine unless it's Orr or McIntyre he is fighting. Those guys can one punch you and you are out cold.
I seriously doubt that. Pretty sure he'll do just fine
I don't think there are any heavy weights in this league that he can't at least hang with, and Orr is certainly not going overwhelm him. He's one of the best at his job, I wouldn't be overly worried about it.

Total man love for the big guy. He's a joy to watch as he plays for the jersey and has a real passion for the team when he is on the ice. Long may he keep it up!

According to hockeyfights.com McGrattan has faced Orr five times already with a user voted record of 2-2-1
Oh, and MacIntyre

Bob Hartley, in no uncertain terms, ordered McGrattan to keep his mittens on.
“This is the relationship I have with Grats,” says the Flames coach. “Like, why send guys to the slaughterhouse just for the fun of it? Those days are way past. But we’re going to make some friends along the way. There’s going to be some community dances, and I’m sure that Grats might be one of the organizers.”
Quote:
“Look at where he’s coming back from,” says Hartley. “We can teach him a lot, but he can teach us a lot, too. He touched the bottom of the barrel in his personal life. The way that he bounced back, that’s unbelievable — and I told him that. I have unbelievable respect for Grats. I love him.”

Completely disagree, he is one of the few tough guys that can play a shift and not look lost out there. He makes the odd mistake (pass up the middle a few games ago), but so do many other players.

I suppose he doesn't skate in the wrong direction and knows where the bench is so in a technical sense I suppose he isn't literally "lost".
In a more broad sense... he's the worst player on this team and it's not even close. I'm sure he's a great guy and he has a interesting personal story but he is not good at hockey.

That's bullspit. He's more effective than Jackman as a 4th liner

Sorry, but I'd take 3 McGrattan's before I'd take a Butler. As a fan, I find it far more interesting to watch McGrattan out there working hard and getting to the rough areas.

With all due respect that is the bullspit... McGrattan does not have even a single hockey skill that he does better then Jackman.
4th liners are not expected to score much. Their value is in intimidation, hard checking and a hard forecheck to wear down the opposition. I'd take McGrattan in that role over Jackman every time. Jackman is faster and maybe had a better shot (debatable), but ultimately is irrelevant. He's not in a role to use that
