All it takes is a goal from Eberle, Hall, Nuge or Yakupov that makes TSN's highlight of the night and Lowe will be safe for another year.

I can't take these Avalanche announcers rubbing one out behind the the mic. A broadcast needs a home town slant. That means content and pieces that focus on the home team but these guys are cheer leaders on a Kevin Quinn Gene Principe level.

The way Quinn and now the CHED guys are talking up the Hall block against Crosby you would have thought he skated through about 20 Norris Trophy winners to win the Gold Medal for Canada in OT or something. It was an okay play but give it a rest.

The Avs broadcast is pretty unbearable to listen to.

Chicago wins 3-2 in the shoot out, Sharp gets Ward cheating to the wrong side and just slides it in.

Stan Kroenke, who owns the Avs, also owns the network that broadcasts the games. The announcers have been explicitly ordered never to criticize the team in any way.

When solid defensive plays are so few and far between, you celebrate them as if they are wins.

No mentions of his 4 turnovers with 3 minutes left, however.

Does Katz own Sportsnet and TSN?

that's a winning attitude if I have ever seen it

Bahaha....Pens didn`t play very well, and Oilers weren`t better.

They did play last night, so back to back games can be tough. (little bit of an excuse?)

They have a break until saturday to scrounge up whatever they can.

Oh, c'mon. They're only working with a 64 million dollar payroll. Give the 'Young Turks' a break.

Yeah, doesn't surpirse me. During the lockout of 2004/2005 Sportsnet let both Principe and Quinn go. The were hired back by Sportsnet but were being paid (thought SN) by the Oilers. I don't know if it's still this way but wouldn't surprise me.

I thought I'd pop over to the Avalanche broadcast to see what the hometown slant you guys were mentioning was all about.

....jesus christ

....is who they seem to think Duchene is.

The Avs broadcast team has been like that for years. Even if I was an Avs fan, that would put me off of watching the games. Its absolutely embarrassing.
