Del Potro upsets Nadal (rather easily 6-2 6-4) and will face Joker in the final in Shanghai.

Darn. That tie break really did her in. Genie drops the 3rd set, 6-2.

Too bad for Genie, but she's definitely knocking on the door. It won't be long now.

Djokovic beats Delpo to defend his Shanghai title, 6:1, 3:6, 7:6. I kinda feel bad for Delpo, he seems like a nice dude.

I hate Delpo ever since he robbed me off the chance of seeing Federer win a slam in person.
Haha.

She really is. It's only a matter of time.
Edit: Genie is now ranked 32nd. Atta girl!

it might look tight, but it isn't really, since every match Rafa plays in the next few weeks is pure bonus gravy. the only way he loses it is if he drops out of every remaining tourney or gets bounced first round, and Nole goes undefeated straight through to the WTFs.
part of me wants Fed to squeeze into the year ender to keep the streak going, part wants not to so he can have more time to regroup and figure out what the hell his plans are now without a coach. sadly unlike the Flames, he can't just suck for a while and be reborn in a couple years with fresh ammunition. Father Time is cruel and evil.

Haase is a good player but better on clay and has been focusing on doubles lately - dropped a set to a guy ranked 250th in the 1st round. Vasek can win that and Milos should win... really has to if he's serious about London.
Would be great to see Vasek match up with Fognini in a QF, I think he's in the same calibre just not as consistent. Also any guy who lists Marco Materazzi as one of his idols deserves a good beat down.

Tough loss for Bouchard today: 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 versus Petkovic.
Even so, what a rookie season for her! A lot of folks predicted she'd be good, but she was beyond impressive in 2013. The future is real bright for the youngster.
Edit:
@Tennis_Canada: Genie Bouchard ranking on 2012-12-31, # 147.
On 2013-10-16, # 32. Moved up 115 spots in 10 months. Now that's progress!
