Sun, Surf and hopefully Some Wins! The California Road Trip
Well the boys are on route to California to play the Ducks on Wednesday, the Sharks on Saturday and the Kings the following Monday. They then end off with stops in Phoenix the next night on Tuesday and Dallas on Thursday.
So what are your expectations for this road trip? We all know how terrible California has been to us the last few years but this is a completely different team. All things considered I would honestly be happy to come out of this trip playing .500 hockey as they play some pretty tough teams. Anything else would be gravy. I also think this will be a good test to see where this team truly is and how they stack up against some of the leagues best.
This will also be the last few games Monahan can audition for before the decision to keep him or send him down happens (if it hasn't already) Here's hoping they stay focused and come out with some wins!
What are your thoughts CP what do you expect out if this road trip?!

Am I alone in left field in thinking that this early season trip will be critical in defining who this team is?
I should also note that I hope the flames let joe t score four goals in a game. I'd love to hear Kerr call, and there goes Thornton, reaching into his pants and pulling out his python.....

I'd be very happy with a 2-2-1 record. Will probably be on the losing end vs Anaheim, San Jose and Los Angeles, but they should have a good chance vs Phoenix and Dallas. Hope Ramo gets at least two starts on this trip.

I expect there will be a few games where the early confidence of this team will be tested. After their quick start teams are going to take them more seriously and probably watch the Monanhan line a lot closer.
A bigger concern for me is the sun and warm weather and how it could turn into an uneeded distraction for the youth on this team. Hot babes by the pool in sunny California and all the golf courses nearby.
If we came home with a .500 record i'd be quite happy.

I went on the California road trip last year and we lost every single game. Hopefully they can at least salvage a .500 record and I will be happy. They way the Ducks, and Sharks are playing it will be tough.
