Yup, was really hoping to see him get that soon. Good to see.

Edit - He did have a playoff goal last year.

Boston College is playing their second game of the season this afternoon against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Here's the Gametracker: http://www.bceagles.com/gametracker/...?event=1294969

Radio play-by-play: http://www.bceagles.com/allaccess/?media=409846

BC had an early PP and it sounds likes Johnny made a beautiful play setting up the first goal. It's 1-0 for BC halfway through the first. Gaudreau with an assist.

BC only has 2 shots 17:05 into the 1st, RPI has 12. The game might be tied, an RPI goal is currently being reviewed, and has been for the last 3 minutes or so.

Goal counts, 1-1

Woah weird game. BC outshot 13-2 in the first period but come out of it 1-1. Now they are up 3-1 3/4 through the 2nd period, Gaudreau with 1G, 1A.

Early in the second, Gaudreau hacked while breaking in draws a penalty, then he buried it early in the PP.

Arnold and Gaudreau have been playing together on the same line 5-on-5 like they did to end the season last year.

Oops, RPI scores after a Gaudreau turnover, 3-2 BC now.

Huge third period for BC blows the game wide open.

7-2 win for BC. Gaudreau and Arnold each with 1 goal and 2 assists. Arnold 11 for 20 in the faceoff circle.

Looks like Johny and Arnold are playing on the same line?

6:24 BC PP Johnny Gaudreau/1 Kevin Hayes/1 12,26,24,3 13,12,24,5,3 Bill Arnold/1
That one is PP but..

7. 3rd 00:18 BC EVEN Bill Arnold/1 Johnny Gaudreau/3 23,17,19,2,10 24,13,5,3,14

Really wish we could get our hands on that Hayes too..

He declined a contract from Chicago and could be a free agent this summer.

huh? I read that differently.

Quote:
Hayes is all Hawks now. After all, it has been three long years since he was taken with the 24th pick, and Jimmy has played 41 games with the Hawks over the last two seasons. It’s actually the first time Kevin’s loyalties haven’t been torn. As a kid, he liked the Bruins but also rooted for the St. Louis Blues because his cousin Keith Tkachuk played for them. He also followed all seven teams his cousin Tom Fitzgerald played for. Ryan Fitzgerald, another cousin, was a fourth-round pick of the Bruins this year. No matter.

“Hundred percent Hawks now,” he said.

The question is, when will he finally get to wear a Hawks sweater? Hayes was just out of high school when he was drafted. Now he’s about to start his senior year at BC. This might have been the year he turned pro had his career not been derailed last February — first by a suspension for an off-ice incident, then by a severe quadriceps injury Feb. 26 (his first game back from the suspension) that necessitated four surgeries.

Hayes is back on the ice but is not fully participating in this week’s prospect camp at Johnny’s IceHouse West — the whopping fourth straight one Hayes has attended.

“Of course, it’s frustrating,” he said. “You get drafted and you finally get a smell of what it’s like when you come to camp, and you want to get there as quick as possible. Unfortunately, I had a little setback — a major setback — that didn’t even give me a decision to make. I feel better pretty much every day, and I can’t wait for September when preseason starts back at BC.”

sounds to me like he wanted to turn pro and sign with the Hawks, but that injury made him go back for his senior year. I doubt he'll become a free agent, especially with his brother already playing for the Hawks.

He is playing on the 4th line LW and getting very low minutes.

Not sure whats up with that... perhaps he had a poor showing at Colgate's camp?

That's pretty normal for a Freshman in college. Most colleges require young players to start lower on the depth chart and work their way up. Gaudreau and Jankowski were outliers in the NCAA. Gaudreau because of pure skill, Jankowski because of draft status and poor depth on the Providence team.

Roy has been held off the scoresheet in the game against Klimchuk and the Pats, but is still a +1 bringing him to +4 on the year.
