^^ If the rumours of Campbell possibly being the next head coach of the Eskies,
I could see the stamps replacing him with Tim Burke as their DC. Wouldn't be a bad move.

Saying the three work together quite well and have a similar philosophy, Burke hopes all three can carry out their set plan for the future, which he admits will take four years to complete.

4 years? In the CFL? Winnipeg can't get this guy out fast enough.

3 years in the CFL. 3 years of struggling with injuries for Sherritt. Probably one of the smartest players in the league too. Too small to be a long-term starter at MLB as well...IMO.

The Edmonton Eskimos announced Friday that import middle linebacker JC Sherritt is out indefinitely after re-fracturing his left thumb during the team's Week 15 matchup with the Montreal Alouettes.
Sherritt initially fractured his thumb in Week 6 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He underwent successful surgery during bye-week and returned to the roster after missing four games.

Thomas has to be smarter on that play (if that's the one you're referring to). He didn't have to hit Reilly in the helmet and that's what drew the flag.

I'm only half watching the game and didn't catch the replay, but to me it looked like principle contact was to the chest>
EDIT: Regardless, it wasn't a late hit, it wasn't a dangerous hit. QBs are football players too.

There was a roughing the passer called last night in the Stamps game -- it was on a sack on Glenn so presumably a hit to the head -- which was bogus as well (IMO)

I agree it wasn't late, but in my opinion is was a helmet-to-helmet hit. Duane Forde basically said as much on the telecast as well. As far as Elimimian on Glenn in last night's game is concerned, I agree that was a terrible call and should not have been flagged.

Eskimos import DT Almondo Sewell has returned to Edmonton after being released from Regina General Hospital Saturday night.
Sewell was taken to hospital as a precaution during the third quarter of Saturday's 14-9 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders after he sustained a neck injury returning a punt.
All tests came back negative for spinal fracture and he will be assessed further by Eskimos medical staff.
The game was stopped for nearly 10 minutes as Sewell received medical attention on the field and was then stretchered off and taken to hospital.

I don't understand the play-calling on Winnipeg's 1st down and 1 yard to go for an end zone. Why do they even do a qb sneak when a FB or a RB can punch it in with more success than QB sneak? This is not the first I've seen this call.. Calgary did it before and so as every team in the league. Most of the time QB get stopped and take the lost. Then they either run the ball or pass it on a second down.

Ti-Cats just got away with an offensive "rub" that led to a TD that was a penalty on Arthur that took a Sinopoli TD off the board against the Argos a few weeks back. What's my point? I just want consistency, if it truly is a penalty, call it everytime.

I just saw that replay. That was definitely a roughing passer penalty. He pretty much elbowed the guy in the head. No need for that kind of play in this league or any league.

I think RB CJ Gable is one of the future CFL star in the league. That is if he decided to stay in the CFL or not get injured. WR Duron Carter of Montreal is another one.

Both of those guys have been very impressive. I gotta think there will be plenty of interest in Gable in the NFL as he's so versatile (runs the ball well, catches it out of the backfield, and is a good blocking back picking up blitzes).

Ouch. Alouettes are screwed. Can't believe how unprepared they were for this. They never even attempted to groom an adequate predecessor. I think Popp just believed that when the time came he could just find another guy to take over. I'll be absolutely stunned if he comes back next season.

Is Marsh injured? Because he probably showed more upside than any of their other guys.
Calvillo is probably done. He had a pretty good career
