Dozens of Nepalese migrant labourers have died in Qatar in recent weeks and thousands more are enduring appalling labour abuses, a Guardian investigation has found, raising serious questions about Qatar's preparations to host the 2022 World Cup.
This summer, Nepalese workers died at a rate of almost one a day in Qatar, many of them young men who had sudden heart attacks. The investigation found evidence to suggest that thousands of Nepalese, who make up the single largest group of labourers in Qatar, face exploitation and abuses that amount to modern-day slavery, as defined by the International Labour Organisation, during a building binge paving the way for 2022.
I guess if you score 2 goals for United against the worst team in the leauge thats good enough to make you English.

Jack Wilshere has clarified his comments over the FA's potential recruitment of Adnan Januzaj, saying he wishes the Manchester United teenager was English.
When asked about his views on naturalised players representing England he said: "The only people who should play for England are English people."
This is what scares the crap out of me for if Canada qualifies for 2022. I've always said if they make it, I'll go, but it would be pretty hard to spend a penny there with a clear conscience.
Portugal up 1-0 and in control of their game against Israel. A game they need to have to have a shot at first place.
Keeper Rui Patricio has the ball at his feet, no one within 10-15 yards of him. He flubs his attempted pass up the field and it goes right to their player, who is clear in on goal and scores. 1-1 final.
I went to the England game last night, thought I would share some photos.

Wembley is a pretty cool venue. You could still see the faded NFL crest at the centre of the field. The atmosphere wasn't as good as I was expecting, I think I prefer the more intense atmosphere of a derby match, but maybe it had more to do with the opponent.
As for the game itself, the first half was pretty boring. The second half was a lot more exciting and I really think Townsend could be a big player for England if he can keep his game up.
In other news the already qualified Oranje thrashed Hungary last night 8-1. Hup Holland Hup!

With Holland's win and Uruguay's loss, Holland might have passed Uruguay for that last seeding spot (Hungary is ranked 30th and considered a good opponent as well so more points)
Uruguay host Argentina Tuesday, Holland go to Turkey.

Can some explain how the draw for the 8 runner ups from UEFA works? I can't find any info on it.
I saw Ronaldo quoted saying he didn't wanna play France. I always assumed they would seed four of the teams as they have in the past. If they did that, I don't see how France and Portugal wouldn't be seeded. How would Portugal possibly draw France?

I'm confused.
It's very confusing as the permutations are countless! FIFA's rankings will have something to do with the seeding. If qualification ended today, the rankings of the playoff teams are:
10 - Croatia
11 - Portugal
12 - Greece
22 - Sweden
25 - France
26 - Ukraine
49 - Turkey
54 - Iceland
France and Portugal could meet up if they both make it through as the French are unlikely to be seeded for the play-off round.

obvious now he was resting Carrick on Friday and I am assuming resting Wilshere for some kind of sub appearance, because those 2 and Gerrard are the only CMs we have right now, Lampard is not an option
