This is my take on it and I really only know peter12 from years on this forum but I think it was pretty obvious he was himself but definitely exaggerating everything. The tipping point was the "thoughtful life" comment.
Though I do miss "God dammit, Peter".

I miss Option84. I know most of his threads were stupid common sense topics, but he always seemed to troll everyone perfectly and get them all riled up while he sat back and laughed.
Crazybaconlegs. His once-per-year posts are always epic. Combined with his avatar image, its the perfect combination of humor and wtf-ness.
Michael Ha. Perhaps the most historical moment on this site. Glad I lived thru that. That event will be passed down multiple generations.

If you're going to successfully troll, pick a topic like "ban all dogs" or "lakes make objectively better communities", and not abstruse points of philosophy. Especially when your grasp of the subject you are attempting to make mock of is tenuous - nobody laughs at bad satire.

These CP nostalgia threads are always fun. To this day I still miss Lanny MacDonald. There is a lot of truth in the observation that his grumpiness and sharp cutting wit helped to police this forum. He was very knowledgable about hockey and constructed his arguments very well.

Once I knew peter was just being an exaggerated version of himself I actually enjoyed it. But I don't expect you to agree with me and start liking peter12, that would be like asking me to like Walter_Reed, not gonna happen.
