Monahan and Sven remind me of Gretzky and Kurri. They seem to know where each other is on the ice and have the ability to make those tape to tape passes that often end in goals. It's early but I think the future looks bright - I gotta wear shades

I'll be eating my "Sven who?" comment forever. This guy is the real deal, and it's great that Monahan can draw the attention while Sven quietly can develop into a superstar.

It was Baertschi's first stint with the Flames that started all the confidence and excitement in a rebuild. Because of him some felt better about letting Iggy go, and Sven hasn't disappointed! Wouldn't be surprised if those 2 pull it off and take us to the playoffs.

12 points in his last 13 games for Baertschi since that Edmonton game April 13th last season.

He had a tonne of pressure coming into this season, due to his good play late last year and Flames president Brian Burke putting a lot more on him and boy has he answered that pressure.

I think he's benefitting for all the attention Monahan is getting. Sven seems like to puts a lot of pressure on himself, so having another youngster to share the load and spotlight seems to allow Sven to play much better.

He needs to be with a guy that will go to the net and can actually put pucks in. Monahan is his new Rattie.

It's so good to see the youngsters stepping up so far this season. First it was Backlund and Monahan; now it's Baertschi and Bouma tonight. Then to top that off Brodie has been effective as well. For me that's what most important this season, progression from the players who will be in our lineup longterm.

A big change from the Young Guns era when almost no one stepped up, and we ended up dealing our only longterm prospects (Savard, St. Louis, even Giguere), not including Iginla of course.

When Baertschi, Monahan and Backlund were all on the ice early in the first on that powerplay I almost pulled a Thornton, live in the Saddledome. So nice to see this team moving young players onto the team.

Oh hush you.

The Flames are winning, so CP is in the ecstatic side of its bipolar disorder. Enjoy the ride; this place has been depressing for a while.

It's not pulling a "Thornton". The correct term is "Hertling"

I'd have done both, one after the other. Then I'd have asked my girlfriend to give me Backlund job.

You love Sven more since you don't even know how to spell Monahan correctly.
