I'm pretty sure your response is mostly tongue-in-cheek, but I felt I should say I really enjoy his posts. I think they're very well thought out and written. I don't always agree with what he says, but I enjoy them nonetheless.

Wtf Jay? Just what has Blair done down there that puts him ahead of others for the first call up? And who best can make up for what we're losing in D.Jones? Pretty doubtful that he can. Hurry up Cammy!
|
They need someone as a healthy scratch. Blair Jones is a healthy scratch tomorrow and Jackman is in.

If Jackman plays well and garners some trade interest, whose left for Calgary born and raised that we dont have?

Born in Calgary according to Eliteprospects:
Taylor Hall, Thomas Hickey, Patrick Eaves, Chris Phillips, Braydon Coburn, Matt Read, Mike Green, Jay Beagle and Chad Johnson.

You will note that none of those players are on LTIR, they are all just on IR.
Putting them on LTIR gives teams cap relief, but the Flames would go under the salary floor by placing any of those players in it.

I don't think so - on LTIR your cap still counts, but the team gets a credit for it if they need it

Yep. Putting them on the LTIR only allows a team to exceed the cap by the amount of that player's salary for that time. It doesn't actually come off the team's salary.

Yeah, that is splitting hairs alright. Street most certainly has earned the ice time he's receiving right now by proving himself to be the better option as Stajan's fill-in. And unless Colborne wants to be the guy going to the press box when Stajan returns, he'd better begin making an impression in practice, then in the games.

What line was D.Jones playing on. He was skating 17-18 min a game. That isn't exactly 4th line min. But call up B.Jones is a bonafide 4th line player.

Right now he's a bonafide press box player. If he does slot in it will most likely be on the 4th line as Galiardi moved up to take D. Jones place and Bouma moved up to the 3rd line. Jackman is in against Jersey.
