I ordered GCL last night, and watched the first game on my ps3. Thought the quality was generally much better than last year, and can definitely see an improvement in the frame rate. Problem is on fast pans down the ice, and at other random times, it seems to jerk or stutter for a second or two before it "catches up". Is that normal? Is that a ps3 problem? I am thinking of getting a roku for a second tv for GCL, is that the best bet? Does it matter which Roku model?

Can't comment for sure, but last night there was no stutter that you speak of when I had GameCentre through my appleTV
How fast is your internet?

am probably shifting off CI and moving to GCL this year.
With a baby in the house, i'll likely be watching the games in non-realtime (ie. watch the game later on after the little guy is asleep).
Is there any issues with this? Does the GCL main screen show the scores, which would act as a "spoiler" when logging in to watch the games?

Depends on your device, but I know ps3/xbox 360 have the ability to hide scores, so you don't have spoilers when logging in.

At the top of the Gamecenter Live page, just to the right of the NHL logo, there is a scores on/off toggle. I suspect it saves a cookie or something in your browser.

So I ordered GCL for my father-in-law. Logged in on his apple tv, and he couldn't get the games last night. They said they were blacked out. I figured, ok, the oiler game maybe. We are in Alberta, but Buffalo-Minnesota? I called support, and got a voice message stating that the game is blacked out in the US and Canada because it's on the NHL Network. So not only are local team games blacked out, but anything on the NHL network is. It's kind of a rip off if that's the case.

NHL network is a pretty standard channel for Shaw and telus now, sadly.
Got GCL few days ago and the quality is vastly improved from last year. Better than Centre ice imo... When you factor in the additional features.

I'm still wavering between Centre Ice and Gamecenter, can someone run down some of the benefits of each for me?
I know GC is 150, and CI is 200.
I know GC is streaming over a device and CI is through Shaw.
Other than that, I'm not sure what the benefits of either is over the other. I just want to watch lots of hockey.

I'm watching 4 games at once right now with GC, can watch any game in the NHL archive any time I want and get a real-time statistical breakdown for any game I want.
I also don't have to pay for bullspit cable.
I can watch it on my playstation on my TV, on my Ipad when I'm in the kitchen cooking or in a small window while on my PC. Picture in Picture, split screen and see no discernable difference in picture or sound quality between GC and CI (which I had previously).
There's really no redeeming quality for Centre Ice unless you are technologically incapable of using game centre

While Flash Walken is correct in most aspects, the quality will still not be on par with Centre Ice for Game Centre.
As far as I've heard from most users the frame rate is still lower than it is for Centre Ice so the play will look a bit more choppy at times.

Yes, that is probably true, and epople with 5.1 setups will likely notice a decline in audio quality.
For me though, I don't notice any quality difference.
