Here's Backlund at the World Juniors, wearing a Sweden Jersey with white stripes on jersey and socks:

Nope. There was a thread about identifying returnees on here and strombad fit all the criteria. Had some free time and was able to figure out which one he was by a little detective work.

Never had an account before, but from a guy who says Sweden "never even used white" on their jerseys, when white is used as an accent on their most recent jerseys, I don't take too much stock in you thinking I'm someone else.

Anyways, check the Backlund photo above, or these:

Just since you were asking for photos more recent than 25 years old.

Considering Hockey Canada's budget and revenue's it is hard to believe that they would be concerned about the cost of an extra set of red pants for the Men's team but who knows i guess.

Now the thread can get back to arguing over the white accents Sweden does or doesn't use on their f'ing jerseys.

I wasn't arguing. I just didn't remember Sweden wearing any white. Anorak was correct about that.

You could've just said "thanks!" or "sorry, my bad!" instead of attempting to troll by claiming I'm some guy who is trying to circumvent a lifetime ban.
Funny, a guy who it appears was banned before you even opened your account... you wouldn't be.... circumventing a ban would you? Or did you just magically stumble upon this person who hadn't posted for an entire year before you signed up?

If you'd like to discuss it further, PM me. Otherwise, be childish all you want, but try to keep it classy and not accuse people of things that suit a simple whim you apparently had.

Just took a look at these puppies and... LOL

They're hideous. Let's be honest. Just hideous.

Reminds me of those celebs that try to be sooooo edgy and trendy and wear ridiculous things, but then they just take it too far. That's what these jerseys are like.

I think the armband wrapping only 1 arm looks rediculous. It's almost unnatural.

Hockey Canada approved these, but it is clear that Nike has pulled its child labour out of the sewing department and into graphic design for all of them. The Russian jerseys have been described as being "two-headed turkeys", and after everyone's reaction to the American uniforms was "OMG! Those are the worst thing ever!" whoever was drawing Canada's uniforms in crayon responded with "I can do worse."

And succeeded.

The rate Nike is going, I expect the Swedish jerseys to be predominantly mauve, and the Finnish to have orange stripes in a wave pattern a la the Captain Highliner Islanders jerseys.

I saw the jersey and those are like jerseys being on Sale at Walmart. I get that there is restrictions from boring IIHF or Olympic boards but those unis are just plain boring.

Geez it looks like somebody set them on fire and tried to put the fire out with an axe. They are as ugly as they get and boring.

The Red and White versions are very plain and cheap looking Canada jerseys and the Black jersey is simply ugly. They look like a very plain cheap beer league jersey.
Something you might come across on a very unofficial website that features their own versions of hockey jersey's from a factory in Indonesia or somewhere similar.

They really missed the mark to come up with a decent Canada jersey poor decision making.

Why can't Hockey Canada just admit they made a mistake and change the jersey design?

If they want the retro look... go with this...

Over 20 years old but light years better looking.

Scoped them out at Sportchek on my lunch, the red and black aren't nearly as ugly in person. The white is still bush league.

This.

The reds look pretty nice in person with all the gold highlights, the blacks are OK but the whites are bad.

Damn, disappointing to hear, as I thought the whites looked the best on the players in that photo. Really sharp.

I don't mind the jerseys. Not great but not bad. What I don't like is that they are charging 140 dollars a jersey on hockey Canada's site for them. A jersey with fake plastic laces should never sell for more than 60 bucks. I'll wait and buy the cheap Chinese knock off as the quality might be better.....
