Icon45 Prediction: James Reimer will be a Flame or Oiler

Both teams have questionable goaltending, and with Bernier playing so well, I am guessing this will happen. Calgary has the Burke connection too.

Ugh, I hate Reimer. I hope not.
He's a 25-30 starter. Definitely a starter, just not a very GOOD one. I'd rather role the dice on free agency or our prospects than dish something to Toronto for him.

Flames acquired Ramo + Berra & drafting Gillies and Brossoit. I think our goaltending situation will be fine, just give it time.

Or at least we should wait to see what these 4 players can bring before giving up anything for a quasi-starter.

We already have enough back-up goalies.

Unless Joey is going back to the Leafs.

Please, no more trades with Toronto, unless it's for draft picks. They don't turn out well (leaving aside the Colburne trade).

The only way I take Reimer is if he turns into a #1 center.

No rush to fix goaltending.

We need to give the ones we have a chance before we start looking elsewhere.

What's the rush to have a great goalie? You're not looking to make a playoff push or something this year, are you?

I think the Oilers are a more likely destination for Reimer. If things continue to slide off the rails there from now into November with Dubnyk playing poorly then that is a franchise that certainly will be feeling more pressure to make a change in an attempt to win now.

Please, no more Eastern media over-hyped Toronto players. Everyone's an all-star in T.O.

I think a team looking for a goalie will look to the Blues

Uhhh no.

The Flames are not giving up assets to acquire a player like Reimer.

If the price is right you take a look at it. A Reimer/Ramo tandem doesn't look too bad.

Macdonald makes more sense there than Reimer if Bernier keeps that level of play up.. however Bernier isn't exactly an expensive back up at 1.8 so not sure why Toronto would be in a rush to ditch him.

No interest in Elliot but I would sure love to land Halak.

I believe Halak is a free agent at the end of the year.

It's not like that was a special trade either... We bumped Horak/Knight off the roster for Burke's vanity project and he brings nothing to the team.
