Fairly impressive? How about historically great.

Hah, Jacksonville is so pathetic. You guys do realize this is professional football, not Alabama against a D-III school.
Honestly, even if they were trash talking that pathetic team, which they were not, if Jacksonville doesn't like it they are more than welcome to shut them up.

Well Peyton has been historically great, the Broncos have been fairly impressive, fair enough?
Like I say though, they really haven't played anyone. When they beat the Giants I think that most people thought that the Giants were a better team than what they really are. Aside from the Ravens (and possibly because it was the first game of the season) none of the teams they've beaten has a winning record. Its still impressive to watch Peyton run the offence and pick teams apart, but I'm curious to see how they fair against Indy in a couple weeks and then a decent defence in the Chiefs a couple of weeks after that.
That isn't at all to suggest that the Broncos are a bad team and not deserving of praise. Its just hard to get too excited about them hanging 50+ on teams like Philly and Dallas.

The optics of if look bad, especially when they play that team the next week. It's one thing if ESPN tweets it but...
The tweet is very High School and not very professional IMO.

Dominic Raiola is apparently a huge jackass.
Quote:
What year is it? Oh, it’s 2013? Good to know, because Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola set us back a few years today before and after the Lions began their game against the Green Bay Packers.
The Wisconsin Band, one of the best in the nation I must say, typically performs for at least one Packers home game during the season. As someone who grew up across the street from three boys who have ALL played the tuba and marched in the band I am very familiar with this tradition and I have seen numerous pictures of them during these events. In fact, my best friend even got to do a Lambeau Leap into the crowd after his performance (a childhood dream for any die hard Packer fan). The Packer faithful love the band, and the band loves performing at these events. It is truly a win-win, but that wasn’t the case today thanks to Raiola.
According to a Wisconsin tuba player, Raiola and his teammates were engaged in their pregame warm-ups on the field near the goal line when he turned around and called him and the other tubas “Fat mother ######ers” and told them that “they sucked.” According to that tuba player no one in the band had done anything to provoke him, and no other band members I spoke with witnessed anything that could have provoked Raiola. The tuba player I spoke with made sure to point out that the rest of the band hadn’t even been on the field yet, and none of the tuba players said anything to him, so no one in the band could have provoked Raiola prior to him making those comments.
As the band was preparing to play the National Anthem another band member told me Raiola was yelling at him, saying such things such as “Hey fat guy, you want a hot dog?” When this band member did not acknowledge him, he continued to yell at other band members within earshot of him until the band began to play. A third band member told me Raiola was calling a band member near him a “fat fu**” prior to their pregame performance as well.
After the band’s halftime performance multiple band members I spoke with told me he and multiple other band members vividly heard Raiola ridicule a trombone player’s weight while they were performing. One band member reported hearing a female member of the band say “Hey number 51,” referring to Raiola, which multiple band members told me he responded to by calling her “the c-word” as they were walking back to their seats.

Falcons have already given up 17 to the Jets in the first half at the Georgia Dome, and are down by 10. What has happened to them this year? (not that I'm complaining)
I know it happens in every sport, but it seems especially in the NFL where teams just explode out of nowhere or completely disappear over one off-season.

Just dont have that same attitude and confidence you came to expect from last years team.
Too bad, as it was fun to watch them and the Saints battle it out at the near end of the year for a divisional win. If they lose this game, they would be lucky to see a wildcard spot and watch the Saints basically stroll into the division title.

Ya, (depending how tonight plays out) I certainly didn't expect New Orleans to have a 4.5 game lead on the division by early October..

Clay Matthews will miss at least a month and may face season ending surgery on his mangled thumb.

Matt Flynn released by Raiders.
Recall he got hurt in the preseason last year with Seattle. That got Wilson more playing time in preseason and reps in training camps, and started the season as Flynn wasn't 100% still.
But because he didn't get any action/chance to struggle last year, he got suitors and traded to OAK and got more guaranteed money. If he played in Seattle and played like junk he'd not have gotten a that money from Oakland. So he's pocked millions of dollars ($7+) from that one game at the end of 2011, with playing one game and a handful of snaps.
If he was healthy, Seattle wouldn't have gotten the full effect of R Wilson last year, as his development would've been, at best, delayed by a few weeks even if Flynn struggled, and the team as a whole may not have gone on the run it did the last 2/3 or so of the season.
Hoping the Jets can hang on, but doubt it.

Even before that TD, I was gonna say with a 13 point lead in the dying minutes, this game is totally shaping up to be another agonizing Jets loss.

Atlanta's secondary just sucks. Lost both their starters from last year because quarterbacks have to be paid $20 million a season.
